People are thinking Bourjos is worth a lot more than he actually is.

That said...primary need is pitching...doesn't seem like this would address the club's need for pitching.

I had a Mac laptop for years. One of the original MacBook Pros. The thing was awesome. Survived everything I threw at it. Trips around the world, through dust storms, ice, rain, snow, backpacking in Patagonia...it was dropped, wine spilled on it, optical drive snagged on something and cracked, damn cover wouldn't even close all the way (see dropped). But it kept on ticking, through all that crap. We finally had to get a new laptop because the latest version of Adobe Lightroom didn't work on the latest version of the OS we could install on a Mac that old.

So, we broke down and picked up a laptop and decided to give Windows 8 a try. I have a Windows 8 desktop and it works fine...not a fan of Windows 8, but applications are applications so we figured what the hell. Luckily MicroCenter has 15 day guarantee no restocking fee. 14 days after purchasing it and taking it on it's first road trip we packed the laptop up, returned it, and bought a new Mac laptop. It felt cheap, the keyboard was iffy, the trackboard was a friggen nightmare, and while touchscreen was nice, once you got in to the applications there really wasn't much of a point to it.

As for the Apple Store...that is a huge douchecanoe...I think the employees there might out douche those that work at gourmet coffee houses.

Completely staged by Arod and his lawyers. He was going to throw a hissy fit and storm out regardless. Selig doesn't need to confront Arod because MLB already has a representative there presenting the evidence. This is why the arbitrator disallowed the request to have Selig present. The evidence speaks for itself. Since Arod isn't getting his way, his camp decided to create a circus in an attempt to compromise MLB's credibility. Arod then conveniently goes on an Pro-Arod radio show for a staged interview. Now ARod can avoid any interview request and avoid tougher questions by saying "I already said everything on the radio". The guy has nothing more to lose and there is no consequence for lying.

He's a sunk cost. You let him go to camp, but don't plan on him helping and plan the offseason and plan accordingly.
If he seems like he can be useful as a starter or in the pen based on his spring training performance, you put him on the roster.  If not, you release him, either out of spring training or during the year.

Ok guys...so I was traveling through New England for a week+, lots of backroads and small towns. We stopped at a few breweries.

Smuttynose is up in Portsmouth, NH. No too bad, they started distributing out this way so if you see their Farmhouse IPA or Brown Ale give it a look.

Woodstock Brewery in VT...not worth looking for, one of those brewpub touristy kind of places.

But there was a place we were told about before we left. The local craft brew store suggested we stop by there, and if we could bring some back he would buy it from us (editor's note...not a chance). He said whatever you do, go there...and it turns out it's right near Stowe, VT where we were headed for a day so we put it on the list. Alchemist Brewery in Waterbury, VT and their Double IPA Heady Topper. It's only distributed in the Upper Vermont area.

I've been to the Russian River Brewery, bought the case of Pliny the Elder...Bootleggers Knuckle Sandwhich...the Dogfish 60 and 90 minute IPA's and the likes.

This beats it. It's unreal. If you like hops, you would be hard pressed to find anything better. When I open the can I spend the first 30 seconds just basking in the aroma of the hops.

When we bought a 4-pack at the local market (you could only buy one)...the people working the cashier had someone go pull a 4-pack so they made sure they got one. We stopped at the brewery the next morning, 20 minutes before they opened, and there was a line around the building, probably 60 deep, to buy their allotment of a case. We picked up a case, bought a cooler and brought it with us/drank it...and bought extra luggage to transport the remaining half a case home. I have 8 left and am torn between drinking it young (as they insist you do) - or try and save it and dole it out to myself 1 or 2 a week at least until Thanksgiving.

    Sorry MT, can't agree.

The Democrats have been pushing to have a conference for 6+months now, 18 times that offer has been rejected.

They've agreed on a Continuing Resolution at Sequester Levels, even less than the Paul Ryan Budget that the Republicans wanted.

They are being asked to dismantle the signature accomplishment of the party, for 6 weeks of a CR, at levels even the Republicans didn't dream of asking for. What happens in 6 weeks? They are forced to dismantle Medicare for another 6 weeks? Social Security for another 6 weeks after that?

The Republicans lost the last election. The Presidency, the Senate, and they lost the House vote by 1.5 million (gerrymandering baby!)...and because they know what they want is unpopular, and they can't get what they want using the normal legislative process, they've taken hostages. First it's the government shutdown and they've pretty much demanded that the Democrats institute Mitt Romney's economic agenda not to blow up the US and global economy.

You don't see the Obama administration threatening to blow up the economy if they don't get gun legislation they want? Or immigration reform. One side is guilty of hostage negotiations at this point.
