WallyWorld got a reaction from DMVol in The Failo Mentality
Well I'm sorry, Strad, but the whole premise of your thread is incredibly condescending. "Explain to me how you can enjoy the game when you don't root for your team the same way I do"
it's also more than a little smug coming on the heels of a 4 game winning streak.

you say you want to have a "conversation" but I call bullshit. you sure sound like you've already made up your mind and this post is just an opportunity for you to try and shame the "failos", or basically anyone you feel doesn't measure up to you as a fan.
and for the record, i personally follow every game and try to watch when and where I can, though I would say given the state of the org they've slipped down my list of priorities to an extent. I wouldn't say that there's no hope this year, though I would say realistically the team doesn't have a great chance, and I don't see a lot to feel good about the next few years. However, the great thing about sports is that things can change quickly, which is why I'll continue to follow the team.
But feel free to look down on the rest of us from your soapbox, superfan.

WallyWorld reacted to Second Base in Richards not getting TJS. Opts for rehab
There really isn't any risk here. Ok let's say Garrett gets the surgery right now in May. Best case scenario, he's back in May or June of next year, but even then, most TJ pitchers take another 2-6 months to actually get a feel for their pitches again. So the timeline of Richards returning to form if he has the surgery right now is likely August or September of next year.
Ok, so now let's say they wait 6 weeks and there isn't enough improvement to avoid surgery, and he gets it in July. Best case scenario, he's back by July of next year, but Richards returning to form likely doesn't come until 2018. Basically, the Angels lose one more month of Richards, if this doesn't work.
That's not a huge risk. Now let's pretend this actually works in much the same way it has for Tanaka in New York. He came back two months later and was a middle or backend starter, and returned this year and is back in prime form. The upside here is that Richards can be back to himself before this season ends.
He definitely make the right decision. The risk isn't great, but the potential reward is.

WallyWorld got a reaction from AngelsLakersFan in Kaleb Cowart is on fire!
at this point, any development like that of Cowart is the best possible news for this org and trumps most things that happen on the field for the big club. this org needs a few prospects to break through in a bad way.

guy was a dick about showing up his teammates when they made errors behind him. that's not fiery or competitive - it's just douchey.

WallyWorld reacted to floplag in This totally sucks
IF theoretically we got upgrades at 3 spots and were still good/not great at the 4th, how could that make us worse? Yes, we would be weaker at CF, but at least the lineup wouldn't look like Swiss cheese with the holes everywhere else.
I get it we wouldn't have Trout but how long before he stops seeing anything to hit at all at his point? Frankly i'm shocked he even gets to take the bat off his shoulder, i wouldn't pitch to him in this lineup.
Look i don't love the idea at all, but if you can tell me how else we dig this team out sooner rather than later im all ears. All i get is people berating me for even considering the idea but no one has yet offered another viable solution that makes this team better at any point in the next 5 years or even starts the process of improving it for 2-3.
i'm sorry but watching Trout isnt enough for me, I'm an Angel fan first. It does me no good watching a great player on a terrible team. I don't think i'm a bad guy for feeling this way.

WallyWorld reacted to Angels#1Fan in Dipoto destroyed this organization
I think Dipoto's job as GM was a mixed bag. He made some good moves and he made some bad ones.
The notion that he ruined the Angels is nonsense. There were problems long before Dipoto came here.

WallyWorld got a reaction from halobob in The Angels should consider trading Trout - ESPN
If this were any of the major sports except baseball I'd agree it's silly to trade Trout. But it's baseball - one guy in your lineup just doesn't make that big of a difference. I think a lot of the fans on here underestimate just how bad of a spot this franchise is in. Trading Trout is no guaranteed ticket back to contention in a few years but it's a gamble the Angels should make IMO.

If we were to re build what is the point in keep trout?
just rip the band aid off

WallyWorld reacted to nando714 in Does This Convince Moreno To Allow For A Rebuild?
How do you rebuild without trading Trout? Why surround a bunch of aaa/aaaa players around trout.
Have the balls blow the whole thing up and start over.
Everyone is tradable except Pujols bc of his contract.

WallyWorld got a reaction from maximus p in Heaney out 6-12 weeks: getting a PRP injection
The fans being babies certainly hasn't effected personnel decisions - the comment was aimed more at the reaction of many of the superfans on this board who think such a mic shouldn't even be contemplated.
And yeah the Angels scouting track record scares me too, but to me it beats the alternative of hoping and praying we turn water into wine with the current roster.

WallyWorld got a reaction from maximus p in Heaney out 6-12 weeks: getting a PRP injection
No, thinking they were one or two players away from contending instead of selling and restocking is how they got into this disaster of a situation. It's reset button time. But Angels fans are babies and don't want to part with their favorite toy, so yay mediocrity.
