Not really arguing the overall idea of not bombing ISIS but I also think it is naive to believe they will just leave us be if we do nothing as well. 

Totally agree, just answering the 'we have been able to stop the attacks on U.S. soil' statement.  It hasn't been worth it.  I still believe that Afghanistan was worth it because it was a direct response to 9/11 but we decided to double down on Iraq and that was a horrible, dubious, ridiculous and idiotic decision that not only costs us lives in Iraq but I believe cost us in Afghanistan as well.

The more I hear about this, the less I like it.  Seems like some of the groups we are aligning ourselves with and even arming aren't really any better than ISIS. 

Obama has already said we would retaliate against Syria if he goes after our planes.

You can't tell much difference once you get east of Billings.  West of Billings all the way to Idaho is some of the most beautiful country you will ever see.

What makes me uncomfortable about this thread isn't really feeling bad for Washington, he cheated and whatever the ramifications are for that, he deserved it.
 
I just think this is personal, it has nothing to do with baseball, it is his private life.

Bottom line I think the risks outweighed the benefits.  I do think they will get more say in their own affairs though.

I don't care who the president is or could be.  I just don't think it would matter.  This is the fight of the people over there to fight.  I'm fine with the mountain top rescue, but not some prolonged campaign.  There is no goal, no end game and no win.

I swear our entire country must be stupid since we keep electing people who keep doing stupid stuff like this.  Talk about learning absolutely nothing from 150 years of sticking our nose where it doesn't belong and failing miserably almost every time.

This again begs the question why the hell are we leading this?  Syria doesn't want us there, Iran doesn't want us there, Iraq barely wants us there and is wondering why we exluded Iran but at the same time wants us to bomb ISIS in Syria.

Even if they are better than IS, who's to say in 4 years from now they won't want to start attacking the Kurds who ARE our allies in that region or a different ally. How many times have we armed and aligned with a group who we ended up fighting in the last 20 years? I can think of at least 3.
