I'm only 1 episode in and I'm not feeling Chris Rock as a gangster. They could've casted someone better.... like Mike Milligan from season 2
Agree on Rock. Stick around though...

Not going to lie, I'm not familiar with Iglesias.
But I dont have to watch Noe anymore, so win!

started watching S1 of The Queens Gambit. It’s about an orphan girl who becomes a chess whiz. Three episodes in and enjoying it.
We enjoyed this one.

I liked the first 2 seasons best. Season 2 was ok. Like this one the least. Agree, Chris Rock isn't selling it for me. I only watched the first couple episodes and I paused it. I'll probably get back to it eventually.
It started slow for me, but has really picked up steam after the first couple eps.

Anyone on the newest season of Fargo?
I dig it. Not totally sold on Chris Rock, but the rest of the cast has been outstanding. I was mindblown to see that one of the characters is played by the same guy who was Richard Harrow (mask guy) on Boardwalk Empire.
Looks like some origin material for season 2 as well.
SpoilerMike Milligan and Joe Bulo?

Kind of amazing that 1 team had 3 players in the top 20 of the mvp vote, but couldnt sniff expanded playoffs.

I'm not a huge gun guy, more archer, but I won an m&p shield 9mm in a raffle at a contractors breakfast. It's a pretty popular carry gun, pretty slick. Fun to shoot, when you can buy ammo, which is not now.
On the bear front, a friend of a guy i know from elk hunting got mauled by a big black bear that he was bowhunting. It charged, he and his buddy both emptied their pistols. One had a 40 cal, the other a 45. Didnt stop the bear fast enough (they later found most of the rounds flattened between hide and skull), dude got his face ripped mostly off. He lived, and now is a very firm believer in the effectiveness of bear spray.

I enjoyed it. It was probably the weakest of the 3, for me. However, i love Carrie Coon, so there is that.
I am just getting ready to dig in to season 4, have to say i've been looking forward to it. Curious to see if Chris Rock can play straight(ish).

Oh Lions fan, I guess there is a hell after all.
Its like reliving the Angels '95 collapse, every single week after halftime.

I have similar feelings about all of sports right now.
I was so ready for some good, after so much negative since covid shut down the world back in march.
So instead, my penguins get bounced by the worst team in the playoffs, who were a mercy throw-in. Then the angels can't even make it in as a mercy throw-in. And i dont even know where to start about being a lions fan.
At this point, covid shutting down everything except korean baseball and cornhole (sponsored by johnsonville sausages) was preferable to the multi-levelled shitshow i put myself through instead. So, I hear you, tdawg.

Being an Angels ( might as well add Penguins) fan has made me long for that golden age of sports back in June of 2020.

The Last Narc, on amazon prime.
Fascinating look into the murder of a dea agent by "Mexican drug cartels".
4 part series, about 45 min each. Quite a tangled web.

I'm trying to locate a reproduction autograph sheet that the Angels sent me in 1965. I wrote to every major league team inquiring about player autographs. Most responded, some didn't, some only sent brochures of things that they had for sale. The Angels and the Astros sent me the coolest stuff. Both sent me window stickers, the Angels sent me a color printed autograph sheet and the Astros sent me a picture pack with B&W photos and facsimile autographs of every player.
Funny, I did something similar for a h.s. project my freshman year, 1986. Sent to like 15 each mlb, nfl, nhl, nba teams at random. About 75% of what i got back was seemingly mass produced by a single promotional company. Some did send custom items, though. Lots of cool stuff to put on my folders, binders, etc.
