It’s going to get a lot of Stranger Things comparisons. Certainly doesn’t look or feel like the originals, or the reboot. I will go in with an open mind. It could be fun, if they find any humor. Trailer was completely lacking in humor.

We used to go to the Roma D Italia in Laguna Hills. It was owned by the son and wife of the original. The cooks and bus boys used to sit at one of the booths with binoculars and watch the girls on the treadmills at the 24 hour fitness across the street.

It’s a perfect Disney movie. its a story of love, acceptance, and resistance. A young boy, a young girl, a loving mother, an evil empire, and an imaginary friend. Sure, the imaginary friend is Hitler, but it’s no worse than Will Smith as a live action Genie. honestly, it’s funny, touching and heartbreaking. It’s close to a perfect movie.

The movie will get some recognition during awards season.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Go see it.

Report came out today that all hands were asleep when the fire started and that a crew member woke up. That is complete and total incompetent bullshit. I was a Captain of a boat for 3 years, First Mate for 3 and a deckhand for 4. There was never a time when we were at anchor that there wasn't at least 2 hands on deck. We had to maintain anchor logs and do hourly smoke/fire checks at night. Even tied up to the dock, we had night watches if there were people below sleeping. I am also surprised that there weren't 2 points of egress in each part of the vessel.

I watched the sunset with Johnny Depp on the Quarterdeck of a Tallship. We talked about clown theater and the fact that the “green flash” is bullshit.

The climbing in Red Rocks is pretty great! We might have different ideas on what is fun though. And 106 might make climbing tough, better get up early.
