I agree with you 100% on this point, Red.  They treated citizens like insurgents.  Ri-diculous, with the fatigues and armament.  They threw a tear gas canister at a citizen who was in the yard of their house.
 
Freaking jerkwater Barney Fifes with weaponry and armament we didn't have in Iraq.

When you have a police force showing up in camouflage, driving military grade vehicles, and positioning snipers with weapons pointed directly at fellow citizens...makes blaming the media ring a little hollow. If the officers are frustrated they need to take a long hard look at their leadership and the overall attitude of the police department.
 
The police's job is to de-escalate the situation, not escalate the situation by acting like some wanna be soldiers policing Fallujah.

Snyder just seems like an arrogant douche that thinks only his opinion matters and everyone else can go F off. He being a stubborn idiot just because he can, and there's really no good reason to not change the name and/or logo.

True, although even the Red Sox most recent title last year came AFTER they shed their big contracts and built a team based on home grown guys and mid-tier FAs.

Would have been even more perfect if it was another pitch up at his head.

No surprise on Cowgill or Navarro.  They're useful to give guys a day off here and there, but their limitations get exposed the more they play.    They're both 28 years old.  There's usually a reason (or two, or three...) why guys of that age haven't established themselves in the majors.
 
I'm holding out hope that Shoemaker doesn't turn back into a pumpkin at some point.
