  1. My personal experience completely contradicts the statement that Dodger fans don't feel any rivalry towards the Angels. As long as the Angels are not winning, the ones that I know will act like the Angels are beneath their notice, but will often say something to put the lie to their indifference, whether about the "of Los Angeles" name, or getting pissy about Angel interleague wins. The real test, though long ago, was 2002 when Dodger butthurt exploded like an extinction-level Dr. Pimple Popper detonation. Their pretense of not giving a fig was the ugliest unmasking since KISS in 1983.
  2. Angels getting all their injuries out of the way now to pave the way for an injury-free 2020 season. Smart move Eppler!
  3. I doubt that he got banned. He was probably too lazy to keep posting.
  4. For those who like the human element, it's not a problem to program in random false outcomes. In fact, they can program games so there is an uptick in false outcomes in late innings of close games. They could set it so it appears that the entire program is malfunctioning on certain days. They could set it so that it appears that false outcomes occur for the Angels moreso than their opponent. It would be so human-like and familiar as to be virtually unnoticeable.
  5. At least we found out before extending these stiffs.
  6. Probably because they're at Sharkeez scouting local talent.
  7. Grabbing it from the guy's wife? I think that's the end of that friendship. What a moron.
  8. Actually he started on 3-days rest on 10/7/13 vs Braves in game 4 the NLDS after starting game 1 on 10/3. You're right about him not pitching until game 5 though . I must've misunderstood something I heard earlier about shortening their rotation to maximize his availability.
  9. Not so sure Dave Roberts would use the word crucial. Of course that is optimal but I bet he's ready to hook him and burn through his bullpen knowing that Kershaw is up next. Going 1-2 in Houston still leaves them in a good position with the final two in LA. Looks like Kershaw will pitch game 7 and if Verlander pitches in that game it will be on 3 days rest.
  10. Paying $1200 to see your Bridegrooms come up short....Priceless.
  11. I've yet to meet a hard core fan of a NL team that is remotely interested in transitioning to a DH. They pine on about strategy and minimizing the role of the manager. They would hate it. Which is why I'd love it!
  12. No more bats and batting tees. Just broomsticks and license plates.
  13. The purist viewpoint is incongruent with the salary and revenue structure of the sport. Barring a catastrophic years long lockout and significant reversal of collective bargaining rights established thus far, the sport has to continue to grow revenue to support the salary structure. I was against the "watering down" of the playoffs going back to 1994 based on a purist perspective, however, I've come to appreciate it now and think it is okay that the regular season record is ever so slightly diminished in importance. It adds quite a bit of drama to the post-season.
  14. Thanks Jeff. I don't agree with those who become negative about Albert as a person for continuing to try to play. I agree that he may be fooling himself but I disagree with people who use terms like selfish and other derogatory sentiments. He's trying to finish out his career on his own terms which should be every PERSON'S right to try. It is the employer who makes the decision whether the player or person's remaining skill/potential is sufficient for the needs of the company. The Angels have every ability to just eat the contract right now. They choose to value his production and remaining potential, however minimal, as preferable to eating the contract so these negative emotions should completely rest at the hands of ownership/management. I do hope that, barring Albert choosing to retire which would be the best outcome, he loses weight, tries to make more contact with less power and that MS places him in an appropriate slot in the order. I really wish him well and hope he goes out on a high note.
  15. Has Cyrus come back alive to unite the gangs of LA? Can you dig it?
  16. That's right TC, my favorite team is whoever's playing the Dogs. Next is whoever is playing Boston.
