  1. Mike has been the manager as long as this forum and its predecessors have existed. Every manner of opinion about the man, his decisions, his "style", his career, and his favorite pasta dish have been dissected and exhausted. What you see here now is just the result of that. Only those willing to continue the same tired discussion do so, and it naturally splinters into extremism. I'm confident there is a silent majority of fans who understand what you've been saying, and your drum beating has helped.
  2. Chavez DL jokes are the new lasagna jokes. This is gonna be great.
  3. Yes, if only there were some development going on in Anaheim.
  4. The lease already existed. I think he just declined to exercise an opt-out.
  5. When Terry is on TV, Gubi talks less.
  6. I think some people read this and see ego and a demand for playing time.
  7. Only start him against the White Sox?
  8. True, but they couldn't even make it to park first.
  9. The valley can't deal with snow, which is relatively rare (once or twice a winter). But when it hits, man, everything grinds to a halt. They don't salt the roads, and there's no real plowing. In Portland, people end up sleeping in their cars stuck on the freeway.
  10. The football and basketball kinda suck, but perennial contender in baseball. And yes, being 40 minutes closer to Portland airport takes some of the sting out of that drive, and probably still a better option than Eugene airport. Maybe fewer food and retail options? Dunno really, but Oregon is not diverse and so the smaller the town, the more bland and carb-heavy the food options.
  11. Eugene is getting Californiafied like crazy. Check out Corvallis if you want to stay ahead of the wave.
  12. So what you're saying is that we're all Mike Scioscia.
  13. To think, all it took was Shawn Wooten saying "bend over".
  14. Assuming he means "hit in the head". According to this article he broke his orbital bone in a minor league camp. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/ny-sports-trout-aaron-cox-20180815-story.html
  15. Oh, are we caring about farm rankings again? Cool.
  16. I'm not confused. Here's the context: Angels need 6 "right guys" and Arte hasn't gone over the luxury tax since 2004. His answer is disingenuous.
  17. My point is that "the right guy" is generally understood to be the player that takes your team from contender to playoff threat. That guy is already here, his name is Mike Facking Trout, and he's the best player on the planet. All evidence indicates the luxury tax is the hard cap for Arte. He's the owner and that's his prerogative, but don't give me this "right guy" bullshit.
