  1. Phoenix has been one of the hardest hit areas in the major recession we're in. Combine that with it being a new area for the sport and that, not that many there have ever played ice hockey and you have some fairly large reasons why they haven't drawn well. Oh, there's also the problem that they've been a lame duck team for 4 years. People won't support a franchise they think is going to leave.
  2. This is one of the reasons I carry a pen on me. If you use theirs, as soon as you leave they can change something and it's just your word (or memory) v. theirs.
  3. If this is a joke I apologize. If not, do you go around work with a name badge that says' I'm only here to make money off people I could be helping for free'?
  4. Are you sure this is the site for you to be posting on?
  5. I'm thinking maybe we should honor ourselves.
  6. I'm guessing you don't realize what a load of crap what you wrote is. I'm not going to spend a lot of time countering what you perceive to be the truth. You seem to be pretty set in what you want to believe. But I'll cover a few of your points. First, entrepreneurs ( I won't give you a hard time about the spelling. I often come up short in this area too. The English police can handle this) don't just produce, they also distribute, market, wholesale, retail, provide services, etc. A person/business who buys wholesale and sells retail ( Costco, Amazon, Nowani) is 'creating' something - a market/path to sell someone elses goods for them. Yes, they do this for more than they pay for it. Manipulate supply/demand? With 16 of about 45k ticket? I don't think so. The one who is trying to manipulate prices/sales is the one with with the hugh number of tickets - the Angels. As far as In N Out, it would be more like you buying a few burgers, taking them to school and selling them to people in the lunch area. Then asking In N Out to box them in a way they stay warmer. They might not be interested in assisting you, but it's not an unreasonable thing to ask. And I guess the biggest thing is that, just because someone makes money off selling something to you, does in no way mean you would be able to buy it cheaper without them around.
  7. Wow, you put in a lot of work just to get into a spitting match with someone. You should check out some of Lifetimes posts. He can do just as much in 3 words or less.
  8. No job and you want to try living on the East Coast. Why limit yourself to NY? It might be worth your effort spending a little time in the areas surrounding DC. A lot of good paying jobs and some pretty nice areas. Hey, you could even join a kickball league and play on the National Mall. Oh, and you don't have to worry about traffic as much. Metro system is clean and well thought out.
  9. Yep, this is the question that needs to be answered. This wasn't a bad trade at the time because of the evaluation of the players. Someone in the org needs to figure out where's the problem.
  10. My friend in college had a roommate who was really screwing up academically. While he was sleeping through his third final we set a Piccolo Pete I had on the night stand next to his bed. He came off his bed about two feet when it went off. He was so dazed/freaked he wasn't capable of getting mad.
  11. I would have been surprised if it had gone less than six. Chicago is the better (and more talented) team. Detroit only stayed in it for as long as they did (just like the Ducks series), because the ref's called the games in a way to favor the Wings (in games they needed to, to prolong the series). The Ducks had a bad game seven in their '1-game series playoff' with Detroit. I hope Chicago fares better.
  12. I would think (1) foul ball and (2) ball in play.
  13. My daughter wants to know what color shoes you are wearing.
  14. Trade Ryan to Edmonton. They have a lot of talent they're just wasting.
  15. Yeah and what I tried to point out with my little ramble about what Toews said after the game was that he felt some of the reason they looked better was how the game was being called.
  16. I meant Chicago is the better team and to compensate (so the series will go 6-7 games), the ref'ing will be 'adjusted' as needed. Or, as some others prefer to put it : Detroit will receive preferential treatment from the ref's (so your prediction of a 4-5 game series is probably off).
  17. Umm... Bob, they're playing Detroit. As Toews put it after game 2 loss, " There was a lot of hooking and holding going on out there." He followed that up with," Some things shouldn't go unnoticed." (Funny thing is he wasn't referring to that high stick to the face Zetterburg gave him - which the ref's somehow missed.) Gee Jonny boy, how do you think, after you guys score that first goal, the seventh game option looks unless the ref's call the game in a way that favors the Wings? Did you think the ref's were going to continue to allow 'free skating' (as you put it) if it sent the Wings home in 4-5 games? You a funny guy Toews.
  18. I remember thinking 'what would somebody do with one of those' when they offered them for sale. Now I know - let it sit in your backyard for 20 years.
  19. You should get in touch with his cabbie friend. I bet he could get you (or put you in touch with those who could get you) a lot of ideas for some good writing material. That guy in the tape probably spent his whole life coming up with this stuff. Now, he's just giving it away for free to cab drivers.
  20. I think I'll hold out for 2015 at Angel Stadium.
  21. Yeah, what's the deal? I thought only poor black people had to worry about stuff like this.
  22. Interesting life. Kind of like living in a comic book. I really like the concept of negative age. Does anyone else hear Roger Lodge saying " you can't make this stuff up" (or have I just been smoking too much smart dust?).
  23. I wonder how many Senior Advisers this team could end up having.
