I can't believe this week.  I still remember when his avatar was a Reno 911 guy on skates.  One time I posted a thread I copied about an unusually prepared dolmeh, thinking it wouldn't get any traction.  Sure enough mrwicked and Brandon were first responders on the scene expressing shock at the unusually prepared dolmeh.  I met him at an event.  He seemed like a chill dude.  Condolences to his family and friends for this major loss.

@Spirit and I gave a toast to Lou and Brandon at the end of our podcast tonight which will be uploaded soon.
That said, I'd love to create a zoom for Tuesday late afternoon/early evening for all who can join to share some stories about Lou and Brandon and give a proper toast among the brethren to two of our lost friends.
Please PM me if you can join.

    Hi All,
I haven't been posting in awhile.  I'm sorry to hear the terrible news.
The first few years I posted as bruinman74 and considered Lou like an older Bruin brother.  When I met him he did a comic hero pose, and said Bruin-MAN.  He got it.
He will be greatly missed.  I'm sorry for everyone's loss.  It's such a major loss to this community there aren't sufficient words to describe it.  Thank you Lou.

Trust me, and this goes for anyone reading this. Life is short.... tragedy doesn't just hit someone else, or old people.

brandon was a fascinating person for me. he lived a life far different from what conservative little me had lived, and i was fascinated by his stories. we hung out a few times, mostly at aw softball games and a time or two at throwbacks. at one of the softball games i brought my daughter along. she couldn't stop looking at his tattoos (he had two full sleeves and they were both very colorful). but he was really chill with her, and it was a moment to see part of his softer side, something that didn't always come through in his posts here.
we had an aw beerfest at throwbacks one friday, and he and adam were determined to drink one of each of the 17 different beers they served. one of the pictures from @Chuckster70 shows adam and brandon after about beer #13 or 14, and their eyes were just hilarious at that point. brandon also brought his poker chips and a deck of cards, and at one point in the afternoon he asked if i wanted to play some poker with him, just for fun. i'm pretty much a novice and i knew that he was a fairly regular player, but i agreed. i started off well, winning the first couple of hands and feeling like maybe i was gonna be okay. and then, bam! i think he wiped me out in the next three hands. it was made more impressive by the amount of alcohol he had consumed by that point. i was thankful we were just playing with chips and not cash.
i hope his family is okay. his sister used to post here several years ago, and she was a good person. they could certainly use your prayers if you feel so inclined.

@T.G. sent me a message yesterday saying something similar.
I’m incredibly thankful for this community and super blessed to have been able to keep it going for almost 20-years now. The friendships & memories from here is priceless.

I learned from his sister this evening that @Brandon has passed away today.
I have no details of the cause of death. They will know more tomorrow and let me know.
I’m honestly in shock and have no more words to add right now.
Here are some pictures of Brandon at past events and one in which he covered the Angels for us with a media credential at the Big A.

Been a tough week for AW.com folks and followers.  GEEZ.  I. guess these. things happen when you've been around some 25 years.  Still - sad to hear, tough to take.
I'm used to a  respite from 'real world' stuff at AW.com -- not this week.

Sounds like he was a really great and loved guy, and even more tragic that he died at a young age.
I just joined here recently, mainly because I had grown so frustrated at how this team has been run, and wasted so much talent in recent years.  But it's sad to see such true loss around these parts, of well liked and appreciated contributors.
Sorry I never had a chance to encounter them here.  As I am someone who LOVES music, it would have been nice to have conversed with and read posts from Brandon.

The Harper walkoff. The realization that they spent a ton of money to hold leads after the 6th inning, and Loup, Tejera and Iglesias kept sh*tting the bed in high pressure situations.

Personally I think Angel Stadium is as good as gone.  The new owner may elect to keep the team in Anaheim, or Orange County, but I doubt they're going to want the team they buy to play in such an outdated venue.

This is the exact thing that worries me.
Any owner coming in would understand it's a "win-now" window with Trout's health/prime at risk.
If Arte waits too long into November/December to sell then this team would need yet another gap year to fully asses the team.
It's nice that Arte is leaving, but he might screw this team one more time by his timing.
