I remember falling asleep during late night movies and being woken up by the suddenly loud commercials featuring Cal and Spot. It's Cal worthington and his dog spot!

The wins may not come at this rate but they are playing well. Playing well doesn't always lead to wins but lazy unemotional play almost always leads to losses. As long as they are playing inspired baseball I am ok with how the record plays out. But the play we have seen most of this year has been uninspired and lazy. How else do you go from a top tier defense to a lower tier defense in one season? Every facet of our game has struggled at times this year. Right now everything is going well. Of course .800 ball isn't sustainable but .600 is when you are playing this well. Most of us thought the angels would play like this before the season. We just thought the roster doing it would look different.

I doubt there would be an uproar if she hadn't been Hannah Montana first. There are a ton of "artists" that are way more explicit than this was and no one says a damn thing. One young black artist gets the snot knocked out of her, makes a video about how she really liked it, and then gets back together with the man who beat her. Another young black singer and American idol judge holds a microphone I front of her and acts like it is a penis . She points it at the front row as if she is pissing on the audience. Is Miley being criticized because she is a little white Mouseketeer? Is it because black girls are supposed to act like this and white girls aren't? What are these people thinking? It is equally offensive to me no matter who is performing. I am sure there are some that criticize the way our black children are projecting themselves. But it sure isn't given a lot of air. Make no mistake, I a, not buying any of their music and could maybe tell you two song titles between the three of them. But I still recognize force fed media hype when I see it.

Walden pitched decent his rookie year when he was our closer. He struggled last year and became expendable. We traded a seventh or eighth inning guy for guy that we expected to pitch he first six innings. A role we thought would be filled by downs, Burnett, frieri , jepson or madsen. It was a good risk/reward type move. Unfortunately the reward didn't pan out. But at the time it looked like a solid move. And who knows what strides a motivated Hanson might make coming back next year.

You would rather lose games for a draft pick than show Trout the club is moving in the right direction. They are bringing up the kids he played with in the minors. I think the comraderie is pretty good on this club. Did you see how hank and Calhoun responded to each others homers he last couple games? These rookies and sophomores love each other and that is a very good thing. Obviously we need better production from our pen but I would be comfy going into next year with a healthy rotation of Weaver, VJ, Richardson, and Vargas. Blanton could not possibly pitch any worse than he did this year but I still want him no where near the mound at 7:05. Hanson maybe in the fifth spot? Or a new starter brought in through a trade. They have played real good on this trip. Shut down pitching and comeback wins. This is he type of baseball we thought we would be watching all year into October.

I for one felt that our bullpen would be fine because of our lineup. Yeah..... That didn't really work out. There is no easy fix to turn this club around because there are so many things wrong with it. The one big thing that we may be able to influence is the health of the team. If we can be fit going into the season and stay that way we can improve a great deal just by putting our everyday lineup out there. Our fundamentals were really lacking this year after being very solid defensively for years. Plus we need to have something to play for. This team doesn't seem to have a goal. One game at a time and not getting high or low seems like a great idea but it hasn't been working for last four years. Baseball is a funny game and we could roll out 80% of the same roster out there again next year and win 90+ games. We just need some repairs and maintenance not a whole new car.
Greinke was going to the biggest money no matter what. Josh was a second choice but was definitely an area we needed improvement. If healthy this team can bounc back and be very competitive. We have three different players in Josh, Albert and Trout that have been arguably the best player in baseball at some point in their career. I know the talent is on this team. We just need the right mindset and a common goal.

Tori was far from clutch when he was an Angel before his redhot second half in 2112. I am not so sure that talking to the media makes you a leader. Tori underperformed constantly until his hot exit. Tons of DPs. Homers. Swings when he only needed to put the ball in play. His defense in CF didn't scare anyone the last two years either. I am just not sure he had any room to talk about not performing.

If this guy turns out to be a true #2 starter then it's the best and maybe only chance the halos will have of acquiring a player of that caliber perhaps for the next 2-3 years.  I hope they take a really hard look at this guy.

I truly think Selig is just piling on. Wants to look like he is doing something about steroids after turning a blind eye for so long. There is no doubt in my mind he knew about the drug use and chose to ignore because the fans were coming back to the park. He hasn't tested positive and yet Selig wants to give him four times the penalty as the rest on this most recent list. Is Selig doing this to help the Yankees get out from under the contract? I think that is likely. Remember the Yankees looked into voiding Giambis contract a few years back. Giambis apologized to everyone but didn't say what've was apologizing for. Very few players address the charges with any truth. ARod addressed the steroid issue from his Texas days. He at least faced the media after his appeal. Am not saying he is a angel by any stretch. But there is no doubt in,my mind that Selig is being vindictive and would lose if this ever went to a court of law. Alex is unpopular so he is an easy target. Manny was a popular player, tested positive twice and actually had his second suspension reduced by Selig. Reduced because he retired and never said shit about his tests. Selig has even allowed three different teams to sign him to a contract after his second positive test and reduced suspension. I just think Selig is disingenuous and is trying to reshape his legacy before he retires.
