Gameday Thread: Rangers @ Angels (4/4/2019, Opening Night)
OregonLAA replied to Jay's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
I can’t imagine we don’t have someone in the minors who can play terrible defense in left and strike out a lot, but with maybe a tad more upside -
I like Eppler and he has rebuilt this organization. I love his eye for pitching. It’s remarkable. But holy cow, he can’t build an offense for crap

Trout 12 years/$440 million! Its done!!

Ever since he signed the last extension I thought he’d stay. Seeing comments 2 years ago about his eventual departure were ridiculous considering everyone said that the first time. I was confident the Angels wouldn’t let him leave. Then this offseason happened. Harper’s comments. Every big writer speculating on how he’d fit in with certain teams. His own comments about wanting to win more. I finally caved and doubted he might not stay. And I couldn’t be mad at him for it if this team couldn’t help him win. So for about a month+ I worried a little he might actually leave. And I couldn’t be happier he didn’t wait any longer!!! No matter what happens he will go down as one of the greats and all in an Angels uniform. I hope he gets a LONG OVATION at that first home game. -

Padres. Lived in Oceanside for about 10 years. I follow them a little and keep up on their moves. Would love to see them win one soon after the shit the Chargers pulled (still a Chargers fan). Its funny everyone here likes the Giants. I think I dislike them more than the Dodgers

If things had gone differently this off season.....

I’d love to make the playoffs this year. But I’d love being an organization like the Cardinals even more who compete year in and year out. They fill their needs with prospects while having financial flexibility to whatever else they need. We are a few years from that, so in the meantime making short term moves like Harvey and Cahill are smart. I’m too impatient for it, but I’m glad the GM isn’t -
Nah. When has a bad bullpen ever hurt the Nationals?
-
I loved Luis. Even when he struggled I still rooted for him because of his infectious attitude. Everyone seemed to love him and he played with his heart on his sleeve. And those bat flips were dope as hell. RIP
-
He drove me crazy, but last year he was pretty solid so I was quiet. He just always seemed to struggle in those games we were only down a run. Pretty sure he blew the only game I’ve been able to get down to in the last couple years too

This seems odd. But Eppler has found some gems for the bullpen so ima let him do his thing

Who will the Angels acquire in a trade

Gray and Hedges would be terrific additions. I will say Cesar Hernandez. It’s a long shot considering Rengifo will be up, but he would be terrific at the leadoff spot. All 3 of those are pretty low key moves but improve the team in a big way -
Does anyone ever watch a show on Netflix and you don’t realize you’re on the last episode? It’s happened to me a few times. House of Cards ended and I was like “that was it?” I think it actually takes away from it a little bit but that was a disappointing ending. That show peaked in season 1 and slowly went downhill every season after. This happened to me with Scrubs too. They have “1 more season”, but it’s actually like a weird spinoff sort of thing, but I didn’t know that. So I watched the last episode thinking I had an entire season left and it ruined the finale for me. It was actually a good finale for being a terrible last season.

Chili Davis was fired as the hitting coach and he elduded to a couple guys never listening to him. I think Bryant and Rizzo were supposed to be those guys. Just heresay, but interesting nonetheless

Astros bullpen coach. Guess Nagy is gone. Reported by Rosenthal

Cesar Hernandez. Great OBP for the top of the order. This is the year we get him I think

Hope he gets an ovation somehow. It might be time to move on but it’s the end of an era and he’s been the manager for the majority of my lifetime. I’ll actually miss the guy -
What would Ohtani’s numbers look like with a full season of at bats? Dude can rake

The protestors aren’t disrespecting the flag nor do they hate America. Why does that continue to be said?

I don’t know a single military person offended by any of this. Agree with maybe not so much. When Kaep met with a navy seal he asked him to kneel rather than sit down. Kaep did just that out of respect for what the man had to say. Anything after that is people hiding blindly behind their own agenda
