When baseball ends, hockey begins. When hockey ends, baseball begins. Being a lifelong Angels and Kings fan, my disappointment is tempered by a renewed hope every six months, only to be followed by more disappointment and more renewed hope.
It's an endless washing machine cycle of being a fan of the locals, with occasional moments of glory sprinkled in between to keep me coming back. Go Kings Go!

They asked one of the freshman if he was surprised by the speed of the college game and he responded with "It was actually slower than I expected, we practice much quicker than that.  It really helped me be prepared."

Finally! A reason to visit Jersey!  Jest kiddin; I have relatives there and we're Giants fans...

This ride looks insane, but I'm in!  What makes me more nervous, is when somebody else packs my shute.  But, supposedly the odds that any of these rides will fail when I'm on it are pretty long.

I think Katie is accurate.  Dublin is fun for 2 to 3 days.  There are no ruins, castles, monuments, museums of great importance to see.  You will need to go to Temple bar, just because it is so popular and you can check the box.  It is one of the nicest and largest pub in Ireland.  Port Marnock is a nice golf course by the airport, if you want to play golf.

It rains all the time in Ireland; you will never see a greener place.  Even in the hottest period of summer, you can be sure you will get 1 or 2 days of rain.  In April, don't be surprised to find a week's worth, but the Irish never complain about the weather.  They play golf in it and just wear different clothing.

Personally, I believe the southern part of the island (Cork) is prettier and more touristy, but don't expect you will see typical European things to see.

One thing you should know.  Northern Ireland is not Ireland.  The Irish use the Euro and in NI they use the pound sterling.  There is relative peace among the two now, but that doesn't mean there are no skirmishes.  I recommend avoiding the subject.

I love Ireland, but because I love golf and their golf courses are simply exquisite.

Food-wise, it is so Americanized that most pubs will serve you a chicken Caesar salad and a Budweiser.  You should try a typical Irish breakfast.  The Irish are big breakfast eaters.  Beer-wise, you'll be surprised at how much Bud and Coors is served (mostly to the young folks).  Without question, Guinness is the beer of choice.  My favorite is Smithwicks (they pronounce it "Smit -icks").  I believe the superior taste in both Guinness and Smithwicks there vs. here is the higher alcohol content.

Maybe news anchors had an idea of who it was based on previous history. One involving a navy ship 11 months prior and two embassies a little over three years before 9/11. Oh and that whole declaration of war back in '98 while the country was focused on blow jobs and cigars in the oval office. We'll start there for now.

Tonight or at the very least this weekend. Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are two of my favorite comedies of all time actually. Yeah, I'm one of those that think Hot Fuzz is just as solid. Interesting to see Edgar Wright's next entry into what he calls the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy.
First was an awesome zombie spoof, and second was a great buddy cop/action/British horror spoof. This one seems like an Invasion of the Body Snatchers type film. I love Pegg and Frost (when working with Wright), and it's a huge plus to have them paired with Paddy Considine and Martin Freeman.

It was a lot of fun. I have no idea who anyone was out there. Richard on Gotbeers team made a diving catch in left center. Adam made a diving play in the first game at third which was impressive.
My favorite person out there was a 78 year old gentleman who got out only once today. He is my favorite human right now.
I'm very proud of all of you for your donations, we really did a great thing. I'm looking forward to next year when we try and out do this year.

REAL GENIUS - most underrated movie EVER!  Val Kilmer should have won an Oscar for this performance.

Real Genius is a greatly overlooked gem. So is Gotcha, a little film that came out around 1985 with Anthony Edwards.

Bwahahahaha!  Too funny; cuz that's exactly what I was thinking!

Just got back late last night... I had a great time with the team!  And, I think I represented pretty well.  I played both games of their double-header last Sat. (They have two teams: their A-team, and a rookie B-team.  The A leaguers must swing wood bats).  In the A game, I started as DH, but ended the game in LF.  I came-up for my first AB in the 3rd inning with the bases loaded, and plated the first run of the game with a sac-fly.  I ended the game with a single, run, rbi, and a walk (no K's!).  We won 3-1, and clinched a playoff spot for the team!  The A-league is similar to my Sunday league back here, but the pitching was not as fast.  I played-down to the level of the B-league in the second game...  I played 2B, but never got a chance all game (the other team was almost completely rookies; brand-new to the game).  We won a mercy-rule game against them.

My line for the day...   .666 2-for-3 with 2 rbi, 3 runs, 2 bb, and one broken bat...  I will be mailing them a couple bats (and other items), since it is so expensive for them there.

You can follow them at Belfastbaseball.co.uk and see some pics from their twitter feed.  By the way, I also won a Gold in my 50-meter freestyle event (Mens 45-50 age group).
