DW711 has all my respect for being a consistent contributing member of this forum. When I think of the A's and the A's-Angels rilvary, I remember Jason Kendall stealing home when KRod threw a tantrum and forgot to catch the ball. I remember thinking to myself, I despise and admire these A's all at the same time. In other words, it's great to talk baseball with anybody.

I am OK with your team not having a chance

The way the team turned the season around in the second half was simply amazing. I think understanding the long season, planning strategy for it (lineup changes, substitutions, etc.), and then sticking to the plan is where managers influence the game. I think Mike is deserving of this award.

What year was it that Howie played a lot of first base?

As much as I like Kendrick and his ability to hit to the opposite field, I wouldn't mind letting Green takeover at 2nd if it brought in another starter.

Where do you think Kendrick will be playing in 2015? I don't think Howie's contract will be extended. Could he be traded before the season for starting pitching? I could see interest from the Mets and Royals.

TB, I totally understand. My first baseball game was in 1979 at Angels stadium, and I have been an Angels fans since. My son's first game was in Milwaukee (we were visiting relatives). He likes the Brewers. To get him more into the game, I offered to become a Brewers fan. He declined even though I was serious. The bottom line is that I love my son more than baseball, and I love baseball more than I love the Angels. Having said that, go Halos!

I hope they keep playing into tomorrow.

Wow. Absolutely no love for the man whose bat kept us alive in April and gave us a chance at catching the A's. I hope for a quick and speedy return.

I can see you comments, eligrba, when listening to the radio broadcasters. However, if you meant the television broadcasters, I have to disagree. Living in northern California (supposedly in A's territory) I've watched numerous games that were announced by Ray Fosse. I've found him to be very knowledgeable and very balanced. if there is a great play by the opposing team, he will give credit where credit is due. He will also call out hacks and poor sportsmanship as well. I have found him to be very consistent and even keeled. He is no Hacksaw or Gubby.

Why is someone from Florida managing the Angels?

As much as people try to hate Hamilton, it is remarkable to me how he seems to be consistently a good guy.

This is why I don't mind Pujols's contract or performance. To see Trout sitting next to Pujols in the dugout getting all of his knowledge make me think Trout will be good for so long. I wonder to which future Angels Trout will return the favor?
