  1. I don't think you need to be worried about that game at this point. My heart tells me that we'll improve. My head says we will, too. It also says that we have a ridiculously long way to go. If Sonny is the guy, I imagine we win from 3 to 6 games, none of which will be the game against the Bruins. An absence of early blowouts would be nice. I worry that the OL won't be that much better, and that's the key. I think Saturday will be very telling for us, but it looks like rain in Illinois, which kinda murders our offensive game plan.
  2. 5 DAYS! Go Bruins! (except against Cal)
  3. Well, at least you're loving it, right? I hope you marinate your crow properly before dining.
  4. They need some luck this year. I'd really like to see this staff succeed. Dykes seems like a pretty good guy. It was as if the world conspired against them last year, though the lack of a competent DC certainly didn't help. Hopefully having a successful DC helps to avoid them being down by three TDs by the end of the 1st quarter on a regular basis. I have no expectations of excellence but hope to see marked improvement, which could be the case even in a 3 win season. Last year suuuuuucked.
  5. I'll condense it for you: quit it with this loser mentality. They're tied for first.
  6. CJ has lived up to his contract so far.
  7. Sonny needs to win three at a minimum, and that's going to be hard to do.
  8. Fair enough. Not quite sure about nice try, though. Anything short of a BCS equivalent finish is a failure in terms of performing to expectations. The sky is the limit for this year's squad.
  9. Playoff or bust, peeps. Anything less is a failure with that boatload of talent and coaching.
  10. He's a Hall of Fame caliber manager. The organization is beyond lucky that it managed to get him.
  11. Was Troll Daddy the grammar consultant on that graphic?
  12. How in the world are you capable of not realizing that this discussion can be held while posters simultaneously post compassionately about the injury? I assume that Dipoto was weighing his options shortly after the injury. Is that unacceptable? Verdict: stupid and troll post.
  13. You could overreact with five words. Stupid post.
  14. Not sure if stupid post or troll post. Either way: terrible post.
  15. This is what a Hall of Fame manager will do for you with the right pieces.
  16. It's true. He is probably good enough for the HOF at this point.
  17. Look, Scioscia is honest to goodness one of the best major league managers of all time. He's had some rough years, but if he keeps at it like he has on average for another half a decade or so, he's a lock for the Hall of Fame. The organization is lucky to have him, faults and all.
  18. It's pretty difficult to argue the effectiveness of the campaign at this point. A 1000% increase in comparable period fundraising is amazing.
