  1. Sounds like the way many people get ahead in business. Very few professions consistently promote or hire based exclusively on merit, achievement and leadership skills. I am the exception and have earned every promotion and bonus. The fact that my parents own the business is simply an interesting side note and has no bearing on this discussion.
  2. Had hopes for something insightful......
  3. I had a difficult time watching Hamilton consistently swing and miss at off-speed breaking balls 3 feet off the plate while being paid to be a middle of the order bat. I am not looking forward to 4 more years of that. I guess I prefer to watch the "decline" of Pujols than the "prime" of Hamilton. If he is still playing, I think Pujols in year 10 will have a better year than Hamilton did in year 1 in their respective contracts. I know I may be the only one thinking this way. I enjoy living in my own little world. Everyone knows my name.
  4. He is an option. It depends on who else is available and how close it is to closing time. I would most certainly rather have Santana taking the mound than Blanton.
  5. I will continue to root for Pujols. I hope he, and the Angels surprise everyone in 2014.
  6. I know I am in the minority, but I disagree that Pujol's contract is bad I am glad he is an Angel and look forward to his healthy return next season. The Hamilton contract is a different story. That is a bad contract. As is the Blanton contract. As is the Wells contract. As is the Trout contract. (Pay the man.)
  7. Looking forward to the A's winning the west again. Kazmir will probably throw a perfect game against the Angels-twice.
  8. A famous author (E.E Cummings) had the exact same problem with his writing. At the end of one essay, E.E. Cummings simply included a long line of commas, periods, semi colons and full colons to appease an editor. You may want to consider, as a signature, including all of the punctuations available with a friendly note to any disgruntled reader that they can stick these anywhere they like. http://www.poetryfoundation.org/bio/e-e-Cummings
  9. If Howie can net the Angels a solid pitcher-trade 'em. He will be missed, but I suspect not as much as a quality starter.
  10. I like the thinking. First, who would be dumb enough to entertain the offer? The Angels already have him.
  11. Fixed. Disclaimer: This does not imply I am supporting signing Arroyo or even think it is a good idea. Pitching, we need pitching. We do not need anymore crappy pitching, we seem to be in a position of strength in that area.
  12. How bad must the Twins be to sign two pitchers the Angels passed on? Hope the fans enjoy that rotation over 162 games. Wow...... Maybe Blanton taught them something.
  13. Artie....NO!! Look away.....Pitching, we need Pitching.
  14. The stadium absolutely needs a roof. The cockroaches that parade as congressman do not like direct light still want to watch baseball.
  15. I am OK with this. The Winter Meetings are coming up, and shopping has just began. Thinking that Justin Morneau can once again be a productive player is dreaming. The Rockies may come to their senses and return to the table. Move along.
  16. Based on that, he might become the next GM. Peter Principle-Angels Style
  17. I would rather have Lyman Bostock having a bad year in the OF than the POS Hamilton. At least Bostock had character, class and humility. As far as Hamilton goes, it is a good thing that Jesus is larger than a baseball or Josh would have swung and missed.
  18. Rational thoughts.....welcome back. Still do not like the trade but drinking has taken the edge off.
  19. Based on Dipoto's pitching selections, I expect the next new Angel pitcher to be old, blind, wheelchair bound with a huge upside.
