  1. Mike Scioscia would sit Babe Ruth against left handers if given the chance. Platooning at this point is incomprehensible. What is the advantage? Play the kids and see what they can do.......period. However, I approve of sitting Hamilton. I think he should become the Angel Stadium Greeter from this day forward, at least he would be working for his millions.
  2. I thought that was how new people were welcomed here. "Thank you sir, may I have another!!"
  3. Will steal 1.4 million from the Angels. http://baseballplayersalaries.com/players/282_Josh_Hamilton
  4. It was frustrating to watch Trout be intentionally walked already knowing the outcome of Hamilton's future at bat. If Hamilton walks up to the plate and simply takes the first 5 pitches, he earns a walk. Can we just give him to Good Will and take the write-off?
  5. Money will not be the reason Mike Trout leaves the Angels. If he wants to stay, I'm sure Arte will oblige.
  6. Thanks....I am with you on the optimism. It is nice to see others with the same perspective. If I wanted to be a pessimist, I would just need to read some AW threads.
  7. 1. How about working on throwing strikes. 2. How about working on not throwing strikes in the middle of the plate. 3. How about working on not throwing the same pitch over and over and over again. 4. How about finding someone who can facilitate such off season goals.
  8. Thanks....I did not know but figured someone in AW would.
  9. I think it is interesting that Scioscia is the only one talking about the rift. Hatcher was such a well respected hitting coach that after he was fired, he was immediately offered a job with.......................
  10. I think we maybe looking at this from the wrong perspective. We seem to be looking to fire the person most at fault when maybe we should be thinking about which position could facilitate a change more quickly-manager or GM? When looking forward, consider which person is in the position to make the changes necessary for next year. Based on this, I put my money on Scioscia staying......crap.
  11. I think that many things have changed in the last 4 months. I am only speculating but it has the potential to become real. Arte's $$ + Tony's ego + Albert Pujols + Mike Trout = very tempting opportunity to reassert LaRussa's legacy. Only spitballing with the rest of the folks. I am not sure if LaRussa fits with DiPoto's plans but he is out there.
  12. Why would Scioscia need to be fired? Why can't he be promoted or traded to the large number of teams lined up at the door for his services? I think Arte can remove Scioscia without eating any $$, not that it would matter.
  13. Soemone had to take Mathis's spot. His consistent failures with repeated opportunities reminds me why do the Angels have coaches? Every other athlete that competes at an elite level relies on a coach to provide meaningful feedback and suggestions.
  14. It is nice to see how much a motivated manager and coaching staff have helped the Indians improve this year.
  15. Subscribe to and follow AngelsWin.com to prevent any future f*ups.
  16. Would you please edit your response enough for me to understand your insightful counterpoints?
  17. Using the word suck for either player seems so underwhelming.
  18. Arte may do what most companies do with incompetent managers-promote them. He should trade Scioscia to one of the numerous teams who will be lining up at the door. Dipoto should get another year; one of the reasons he is here is because of Scioscia's poor personnel decisions (Wells, Napoli, etc).
  19. Any hope requires a dramatic change with the pitching. I sometimes think the players are going through the motions because they know that the bullpen will serve up batting practice fastballs. It seems obvious that Mike can not win with this team. Of course with the bullpen the way it is, Connie Mack, Casey Stengel and John McGraw couldn't either.
  20. I agree with you 100%. Players come and go, success ebbs and flows, but an owner committed to winning is pricessless. Yes, he has made some mistakes, but at least he is willing to take the risk. I also understand why some folks want new ownership. We live in a "faultless society" where everyone is successful regardless of the risk. Pu**ies are afraid of failure and are often the a**holes on the side being the most vocal with "I told you so."
