  1. I would give them both another year to show some durability before actively looking to move them. They both might be candidates for the bullpen if they can't log the innings.
  2. Looking forward to more of this in Seattle thanks to the recent extensions for the GM and manager. For as disastrous the past couple of seasons have been for the Angels, nothing like this has happened which speaks to the quality of the organization and the team.
  3. Scioscia is coming back!! It makes sense if this is really the clubhouse reality.
  4. So he joins Pujols, except that Pujols keeps showing up for games.
  5. I'm sold. Extend him another couple of years. Didn't Lasorda only have 1 year contracts during his tenure?
  6. People are reading too much into Mike's comments. How would anyone answer the question whether they wanted to keep doing their job knowing that the response would be publicly shared? Scioscia is a master matador with potentially distracting questions.
  7. Wonder what they will say about the Angels?
  8. I thought this was going to be about Paul Simon.
  9. I am curious to know how much of the recent pitching struggles were due to Maldonado not calling the pitches? I also wonder if pitchers were tipping their pitches? Maybe opposing players were communicating pitch and/or location to the hitters when on 2B?
  10. I like him. He has done more for the Angels this season than any other pitcher. Give me a lock down bull pen and 5 Barrias and this team has a future.
  11. It would be hard to fault Stoneman for keeping every prospect if most of them performed at their predicted levels. I fault him for not having a better evaluation system. Some organizations seem to be able to consistently develop major league players, some who are average and others who are very good. The Angels have never been one of those organizations. Dipoto obviously failed the marshmallow test as a toddler, but managed to receive a participation ribbon and trophy for his efforts. His self esteem has ballooned ever since.
  12. How about taking baby steps like trying to find a couple of average pitchers who can stay healthy all year?
  13. It would be a welcomed change to be eliminated while having a winning record, and not being blown out night after night, and not being reminded of the empty cupboard known as the 40 man roster, and not being reminded that Pujols will be returning for another year, and whether or not Trout will stay or be traded. I feel like good times are just around the corner, maybe 2022. Talent fixes this shit show faster than a new manager.
  14. Eppler and Moreno should have been forced to attend every game on this road trip before discussing next year's payroll.
  15. Who replaces Cowart? That is where the Angels are with their depth. At this time, he is the best option.
  16. Good thing Osuna did his beating early enough to ensure his post season eligibility.
  17. Probably not but he may care about the consistent losing.
