  1. I have a 6 pack of PBR tall-boys on this edition of the Dipoto Cup Go Angels.........Send those two bitches back to Seattle with a sweeeeeeeeeep.
  2. If you really are a good friend of Dipoto, I expect that you will quit posting here.
  3. Terry sometimes seems confused when things are happening quickly or surprised at times when he shouldn't be.
  4. The best way to keep Trout is to let him know that if he signs with a team on the east coast, he will have ESPN coverage and commentary about himself 24/7.
  5. The old guy in the dugout behind home plate is Albert's younger brother.
  6. I should have qualified my statement with "continue to play with rebound type players." I understand why those players needed to be signed and why the Angels have patiently waited for things to change. I suspect their probable plan is to prepare for a future without Trout with the hope that he will sign an extension. Lots of great players never won, but in this era most at least were able to play in the post season a few times. I do not disagree with either of your responses. I certainly could have written my post better..
  7. I wouldn't consider signing an extension until after seeing what Eppler does this off-season. Trout deserves better than playing with a bunch of "rebound potential" players. Eppler needs to significantly upgrade at least three of the Angels most obvious needs (catcher, 1B, 3B, 2B starting pitching). It is time for Arte to drop some serious coin and for Eppler to make some bold trades if they want Trout to consider an extension.
  8. I wonder if the Angels have thought about this? We all owe a debt of gratitude to Rosenthal for bringing this issue forward. What insight!!!
  9. Trout has earned the right to determine his destiny. I will not fault him if he signs elsewhere....its tough to watch this shit as a fan, I can't imagine being involved in it as a generational player. Trout leaves the Angels for other reasons than money; I think he has earned it.
  10. Its a ligament. The current accepted repair for this ligament is surgery. The decision to have Ohtani pitch was not an Angels' only decision to make. The decision was Ohtani's and I like the fact that he had the balls to go out and give it a try. I have more respect for him because of his fearlessness. He has more to lose than any fan in this situation, and he went into it with a wide open throttle.
  11. Whatever the problem, rest assured that the smartest man in the Mariner organization will solve it with a trade.
  12. So, you are saying that Ohtani should have never pitched again?
  13. As part of my community service requirement, I decided to pick up some garbage lying around on AW. Anyone know where I can get an extra large trash bag?
  14. Doesn't really change what Eppler needs to do to improve this team. This is not that catastrophic because he can still potentially play during his recovery. It will be fun to see what he can do when focused on only one aspect of the game.
  15. You have the same rights to express your thoughts as the kneeling football players. I am frustrated with the tribalism that has established itself creating an "us against them" mentality. Civil discourse requires a level of integrity that is missing in today's society. I think I understand why someone would interpret the act of kneeling during the national anthem as an action trashing the flag or anthem. Both are powerful symbols that can illicit very personal and visceral responses. I grew up thinking that alcohol, tobacco and firearms meant a family reunion trip. I suspect we probably have more similarities than differences, but our differences are just as important to protect as our similarities. Now back to regular programming. Red Sox suck. Dipoto Sucks.
  16. A new manager makes everyone better is what the Nationals thought. I think it depends on the manager's approach, the players response and the level of talent in the lineup. For every complicated problem problem, there are simple solutions that never work.-Mark Twain
  17. ...and any good protest should not be without risk. If there are no risks to the protester, there is no protest.
  18. Cool. The Angels should print scouting report information on the back of emery boards for every pitcher since it is now legal.
  19. I know you are correct about Bedrosian. I hope the Angels find him a role where he can be more successful. High leverage situations do not seem to match up with him.
