  1. Think about who the GM is for each team. The Angels will be fine. I was being sarcastic.......I hope the Yankees send a butt-load of prospects that fizzle out and that Paxton gets injured in his first year as a Yankee. I hope history repeats itself in this scenario. The Astros are so far ahead of the Angels at this time, it really does not matter if Paxton goes to Houston. It will be nice to see the Houston staff get collectively older to reduce their window.
  2. Good thing you are an Angels fan during this time. You would have never made it through the 70's. or most the 80's, or most of the 90's.
  3. That's because you never had the chance to watch Willie Mays in his prime, or Ted Williams, or Johnny Bench, or Sandy Kofax, or Hank Aaron, or maybe Nolan Ryan. You never forget the experience of watching great players play, regardless of the game outcomes. But, it also may simply be I value the baseball experience differently that most others.
  4. Josh, you already did that, but with 125 million. You should consider another option.
  5. Pujols for Ruth Bader Ginsberg. I think they are about the same age.
  6. Of Course! Who doesn't want to visit Disneyland?
  7. The only thing that would make this better would be if Seattle extended Dipoto's contract.
  8. Would rather have the player that the Angels received for Cron than having Cron. Who was that?
  9. I am in the build the team and let Mike decide whether he wants to part of it or not category. Ohtani has made his decision after looking at all of the options. I am confident that Mike stays an Angel and plays until he is 40. Timing has never been the Angels strong suit.
  10. Cost effective is always a concern because it is still a business and Albertross contracts drive decisions. I agree that this is not the only choice. However, three years ago, the Angels had no choice. The fact that the Angels have a choice now is the direct result of being patient three years ago. I don't think patience all of the time is a good idea, but impatience now could dismantle the current options earned by being patient, which will actually improve over time. I want to believe that if Mike Trout told the Angels that he wanted to be traded to a competitor, Artie would oblige. This off season my provide the final answer regarding Trout's future.
  11. Because it works. Because it builds a sustainable winner. Because it is cost effective. Because most fans connect more with home-grown stars than with free agents. It appears that the Angels have made their decision independent of whether Trout stays or goes. It is amazing that the team has not completely tanked during the rebuild, and would have been more competitive with some healthy pitching.
