This team needs no new starting position players, in fact we really only need bullpen help and 1 quality SP, that requires not needing to hire Dombrowski.  Arte might be able to save money this offseason for once, think about that for a minute.  Things actually look bright for next season and I'm excited to see them surprise the league.  Maddon seems to be far more effective than he was the first few months, same with Callaway.  This core of players is good and very talented, and I think moving anymore position players around will hurt our chances next season.  A lot of these guys are just now honed in to Maddon's style of play and having to retrain someone in the field will set us back.

I think the Angels coming in hot and sneaking into the playoffs to win the WS would be the ONLY thing that would make this COVID 19 season epic and memorable for all baseball fans. It was at .1% chance before tonight's game.  Like holy **** could you imagine if it actually happened?

Dodgers wanted him. That should be reason enough to hold on to him and give him a real shot in 2021.

Any trade that takes place in the off season will probably involve players you don't know are in the minor leagues.
Garret Richards is a free agent and his age says short term contract at a reasonable rate. Tonight his fastball touched 97 mph out of the bullpen. He could be a starter or a closer at this point. 

They should hire Dombroski to be the Angels Baseball President of Baseball Operations and keep Eppler as his GM.  

Mayers’ hitless innings streak ended at 14.2 innings.   That has to be high up on the all time list for MLB relievers.
He does have an 18.1 scoreless innings streak still going, over which his WHIP is 0.38 with 25/3 Ks/BBs.

I really feel like the Dombrowski method will decapitate this franchise for a decade, the real and only growth we have really seen has come from within, mainly home grown but some re-calibrated talent from other teams.  Eppler doesn't deserve to lose his job because of the major improvements the team has made since the early struggles, the sample size is not large enough to call him a failure over 162 games.  We basically get a freebie, shortened season that was mostly forgettable and an extra off-season to re-calibrate the team once again.

Why are people all of a sudden convinced that if Arte spends and we trade our farm via Dombrowski that we will win a WS?  Every time we think we have a window to win it ends up being non-existent because we were in win-now mode and gutted the team and acquisitions didn't thrive here.  Since when has a win-now mentality for the Angels ever worked out?

Not at all close to the same thing. The Angels are playing meaningless games and Simmons faces the risk of injuring himself and costing himself millions of dollars. Dipoto didn't face any of those risks. This is like Christain McCaffrey skipping the Sun Bowl. Big Whoop!
