  1. 180 mill x 1.15 to the 20th power equals about 3 billion. So 15% annualized.
  2. However he remains one of my all time favorite players. When he bobbled that ball against the Mets I yelled, "Yes, feel my pain!" at the Bosox fans. Plus, the error in the WS was dwarfed by his catch of the baby in Curb!
  3. That was year two for Lee Smith. The frustrating about year one (1995) is that he was blocking Troy Percival.
  4. Mike Epstein, Butch Hobson, Vada Pinson, Tony Armas, Bert Campaneris, Leo Cardenas, Tony Conigliaro, Jimmy Piersall
  5. Yep. Worsened by the fact that we traded a young Dante Bichette for him.
  6. He signed with the Angels for a reason. He is VERY comfortable in Anaheim. No pressure, no conflicts, no expectations.
  7. Nope. I hate to be obvious, but we really need someone who is a proponent of MAGA! (Make Angels Great Again)
  8. Yeah, he watches soccer and, as I can attest, the two are mutually exclusive.
  9. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015. I just discovered this about a week ago while surfing old Vin Scully broadcast calls.
  10. Nah...if it walks like Brandon Wood.....
  11. I'd give Trout a few more years. He's pretty much been kept in the garage and only driven on Sundays.
  12. I think not signing Beltre was our big downfall. Arte came in with an early "take-it or leave-it" offer, then, after Beltre "left-it" and used the offer for leverage, we traded Napoli and Juan Rivera for Vernon Wells. A year later we chased down Pujols, which never made sense on a roster that already had Kendrys Morales and Trumbo and we were thus reduced to trying Trumbo at third. Later, we didn't resign Torii because he and Albert couldn't get along in the clubhouse. Signing Beltre could have prevented all that! A roster with 1B- Kendrys and Trumbo, 2B - Kendrick, 3B - Beltre, C-Napoli, SS-Aybar, OF - Trout, Torii, and Rivera would have played just fine!
  13. Agree. I choose "Lose without Ohtani." I'm both a Halo fan and an Ohtani fan. I'd love to see Shohei play in the postseason, and its just not going to happen in Anaheim.
  14. However, if you play for the Halos and get on base at the league average rate, then YOU ARE ELITE!
  15. Ippei should be suspended. He was man-handling Shohei!!!
  16. Yeah, but its awfully frustrating to watch guys like Suarez anItd Barria unable to put hitters away.
  17. Angels second in blown saves, last in War from 2B, negative WAR from left field, PH, catcher (BIG drop from Stassi's performance last year). A six-man rotation makes sense if you got 6 quality starters, but for the Angels it just exposes a lack of depth, especially when a starter goes down. It also leaves one less guy in an overworked bullpen. Bullpen is third from bottom in WAR (negative 2.3). Velasquez dead last in offensive WAR.
  18. That's because you never taught public school. Otherwise, you'd just be happy they were in the ballpark!
  19. The "clean image" is just not working for us. It's the type of thinking that made us trade Napoli and Rivera for Wells. We need to do a complete 180. Fire Maddon, hire Lenny Dykstra. Trade Trout for Harper. Sign Trevor Bauer and then hire the ex-mayor of Anaheim to represent him in court to get him back on the playing field. Replace our trainer with Jose Canseco. Hire Gaylord Perry to tutor those 20 pitchers we drafted last year. Send Ohtani to Navy Seal BUD/S school. NUFF SAID!!!
