  1. Chris Rodriguez is our SECOND best pitching prospect? After seeing him pitch to two hitters, I now declare him the BEST pitcher we've had in 3 years!
  2. Meanwhile, many of our pitchers are talking about cleaning up their mechanics. Quintana, Cobb, Ohtani... who is working with them on this?
  3. Unfortunately, its true. Although he IS only 21, he is making gaffes you only see in Little League.
  4. Paper route for the OC Register (afternoon edition) in 1971. Had to go out in the evenings and collect the monthly subscription of $2.75 and was happy to get a 25 cent tip.
  5. I'd love to see him continue his career with the A's, Astros, Rangers, or Mariners.
  6. Anchor is well put. The roster has been awkward ever since we signed him. We had Kendrys Morales and Trumbo (remember trying to play him at 3rd?) so that gave us 3 first basemen. We've had to carry an extra guy ever since because he was never the expected mainstay at first. The worst contract in MLB history? However, I'd love to see a match race between him and Benjie Molina. These are the only two guys that don't even make it onto your TV screen when grounding out to first. Given a time machine, I'd give Adrian Beltre whatever he asked for and thus avoid the entire chain of bad signings that followed.
  7. I like these, except replace you misspelled Walsh in your first prediction.
  8. Mine too, all of us long-suffering Angel fans chanting "Yes, we can!".
  9. True, but missing 3 years due to WWII cost Ted Williams the number one spot.
  10. Actually we're both wrong...Wilfong single scored Rupert Jones to tie it. DeCinces popup was the same inning (9th)
  11. Yep, we couldn't get the run in from third with less than two outs to win in the 10th (DeCinces popped up). Remember in Boston when Grich went off on Moose Stubing for freezing-up as third-base coach? That summarizes the frustration in those two games.
  12. 1977 - We just signed Grich, Baylor, and Rudi and were favored to win the AL west. Grich was signed to play shortstop, gets hurt (replaced by Rance Mulliniks), 5th place finish.
  13. True....but he also had one of the greatest all-time quotes that epitomized the early '70's Angels... "Next year we've got everybody coming back...and that's the problem!"
  14. I'm old enough to have seen Ryan, Tanana, and Messersmith in their prime. My first choice in a big game would be to give the ball to Tanana (in his prime), my second choice would be Weaver.
  15. Where are they going to play? Back in the 60s, 70s, and 80s you could walk to the local public school and play baseball on the varsity field. Nowadays they are all locked up, due to vandalism and/or liability concerns. You NEVER see kids playing games like "Over the Line" anymore. Its tough to play baseball when you can't find an open area.
  16. Rendon and Fletcher are solid, Ohtani is our Jared Goff.
  17. Steve Kornacki just reported that there is a 67% chance Angels fans will be breathing a sigh of relief over losing out on Bauer by Independence Day.
  18. Fuck this..... I'm starting my own hall... Bobby Grich - in Curt Schilling - in Barry Bonds - in Pete Rose - in Roger Clemens - in Darin Erstad - in Brian Downing - in Jered Weaver - in Derek Jeter - out Arod - out Mike Piazza - out
