Ohtani is en route to Toronto to sign his contract.

If Sandoval was on Tampa Bay and there were rumors he was available, I bet Angel fans would go nuts wanting to get a guy in his prime with upside, with years of control.
I don’t get Sandoval’s name coming up at all in trade ideas when he fits what the Angels need now and going forward.

I'm trying to figure just who the hell the Angels are discussing pitching acquisitions with. Like they're supposedly aggressively looking, but do they have anyone of value that they can actually trade at this point?
Rengifo had value, but not enough to bring in a Glasnow type. Same thing with Thaiss. I'm fairly certain they aren't trading O'Hoppe, Neto or Schanuel. Maybe Kyren Paris and Jo Adell? 
Just not a lot of value in this system. I'm not saying they won't trade for a pitcher. I'm just not convinced the Angels are going to be major players for any of the top free agents or trade acquisitions. It seems to me, Shohei is going to sign elsewhere, the Angels won't exceed the luxury tax and they need to rebuild the farm system.

Most experts were highly skeptical of Bachman remaining a starter when he was drafted. The arm slot and stuff were a better fit for relief. 
The Angels thought otherwise. 
It looks to me like the experts were right on this one. I just wish the Angels were experts.

If he doesn’t sign with the Angels, I want him to sign a deal for $2b as the first contract for the new Saudi Arabian LIV baseball league.  Or proclaim he is female and dominate the WNBA.  Or buy Santa Margarita Toyota and get that place straightened out.
