You've been underrating Skaggs since February so no surprise here

Griffin Canning is a good major league pitcher that is currently being limited to 80-90 pitches in AA.
Mid-90's with movement, "plus-plus" curve, "plus" change and command to go with it.
The only starting pitcher in the entire organization that is without debate, better than Canning is Ohtani. I think Richards is better but not by a wide margin. Skaggs and Barria are debatable.

It's ironic that the Angels AAA team this year featured significantly more firepower than the major league team.
And where to fix the offense? Well AAA of course.
Fernandez, Thaiss, Ward, Blash, Fletcher, they can all hit major league pitching.

I don't want to be unreasonable though, so I would trade Trout to New York for the right package.  But it has to be the right package.
    1. I want his entire major league value recouped in the return at the present major league level.
    2. I want prospects that are going to ensure the future of my ball club.
    3. I want enough money included in the deal to not only offset all the costs of the players I'm getting in return, but enough to make several big splashes in free agency.
    4. I want extra added on because if I do this, I'm going down in history as the GM that traded Mike Trout.  That can absolutely ruin a reputation for life.
    - So if we assume Trout is going to likely be worth 12 wins above replacement this year (that's playing it conservative), and 12 next year and 12 the year after, the return would have to give me 12 wins at the major league level right now in spots that I have an opening.  Aaron Judge currently figures to be worth 8, but outside of Yankee Stadium and the artificially inflated numbers, I'm going to knock it down to 6.  Giancarlo Stanton averages 4 in his career, so that gets us up to 10.  Aroldis Chapman averages 1-2 per year, so that gets me to 12.
Next, Prospects.  I consider Miguel Andujar and Gleyber Torres prospects, and I want the best, and they're the best the Yankees have to offer, so I'll take those too.
Now then, we need enough money to offset salaries in return.  Chapman is making 17 million a ear for the next two, so there's 34 million.  Stanton is making 26 million, so there's another 52 million.  We'll assume 4 million will cover Andujar, Torres and Judge for the next couple year.  And then, I'd need enough to make at least three major big free agent splashes.  I'll say those coming in at 25 million a year apiece.  So there's another 100 million.
Next, as an added bonus, I need an ace starting pitcher because Ohtani's down, Richards is certainly leaving for FA with his buddy Trout gone and Calhoun on the shelf or dealt, so I'll take Luis Severino.
So the final fair asking price of the Yankees in this deal is Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Aroldis Chapman, Miguel Andujar, Gleyber Torres, Luis Severino and 190 million in return for Mike Trout.
There you go Yankees.  There is not negotiating, that's the price.

There a few things this writer is clearly unaware of.
    1. Yankees prospects are extremely overrated simply because of who the parent club is.
    2. If the Angels did trade Trout, any club would have more to offer than that package.
    3. Trout values those who are close to him. The Yanks have no one like that with Trout. The Angels have Richards, Calhoun, Albert, Upton....
    4. The Angels aren't cash strapped right now, so the Yanks taking on his contract holds no value in negotiations.
    5. This is only speculation in my part, but I think part of the reason Trout loves Millville as much as he does is because he spends 6 months of the year elsewhere.

This is a good thing. Hermosillo will be a solid major leaguer someday, but he needs to be in AAA. He isn't done developing yet. He was only forced into action because Calhoun and Young suck.
Blash on the other hand is done developing and being in AAA wasn't doing him any favors.

I'm as excited about Adell as anyone, but I wouldn't blame the Angels if he spent a full season in AA. He isn't walking a ton yet (though more than he did last year) and I'd like to see what he can do against quality offspeed pitches.
Trout spent as little time in AA as he did because his plate discipline was already a "plus" skill and he'd started making adjustments that quickly would've made AA pointless.
I see a little of that in Adell. He's quick to adjust and those adjustments he makes can quickly make leave a developmental level behind. I don't think anyone foresaw Jo moving well beyond A Ball in only six weeks.
Even the best prospects spend the majority of one season there.

It's actually great advice. Scouts aren't looking for specialists as much as they want athletes and students.
Same thing happened to me. I was ready to give up football after my sophomore year just because some assistant coach from like North Dakota State started making contact. I had a coach that cared enough about my well-being that convinced me to quit travel ball and continue playing football and basketball.
Now I'm 33 and I see he was right. I was good, but not so good that I needed to start thinking I'd go pro or planning on which scholarship offers to accept (there were none by the way). More like good enough to walk on and play for some D2 no name school. I made a ton of memories playing football and basketball.
Travel ball? Most of the memories consist of playing against guys that ended up going pro. But no actual personal glory.
Kids need to play. They don't need a year round commitment like a job.

I still believe that Herm has the potential to be an everyday outfielder and a strong 4th outfielder at worst. However, I think he was called up too early when he was just  barely getting acclimated to and seeing success in AAA.

The Angels have put themselves in a good position with Trout.
He's had mentors like Torii Hunter and Albert Pujols to help guide his formative years in the league, he plays for a large market team but small enough to keep him out of the spotlight, they've spent money in free agency but have money to spend right now, Trout is the highest paid major leaguer right now as part of the Angels, they've surrounded him with talent like Ohtani and Simmons, and they have a crop of extremely talented prospects coming up like Thaiss, Suarez, Canning, Adell, Marsh, Jones, that will keep this team competitive for years to come.  He's the face of the franchise and Arte will spend whatever it takes to keep the best player maybe ever in Angel red.
There's literally only one thing that would cause Mike Trout to sign with another team, he wants to play back on the east coast.
I think Trout stays in an Angels jersey.
