  1. He then backtracked and said it's harder to market MLB with them cuz they aren't fluent in English.... My take on this: Having players like Ohtani, Tatis Jr, Guerrero Jr and other non-natives is actually what you need to promote MLB. Baseball will always be popular in the states. It's America's past-time. Americans will get wet over any player and we don't need them to speak. As a culture, Americans are so easily entertained it's amazing. You need foreign players to market the game to their native countries. Currently, because Ohtani is having a monster year, attendance of Japanese people at Angel Stadium are on a huge rise and the Japanese Media is Ohtani crazy. This is exactly what is needed to grow MLB. The ESPN guy to say that is out of sync with the sport. Ohtani leading the way turns the heads of Americans, but now you have people from Japan turning their TVs on in the middle of the day just to watch what Ohtani does next.
  2. Still can't get over him saying Andrew Haney all Spring Training
  3. I couldn't help but notice the first two videos..... Looks like he's taking signs from the dugout hahha
  4. Minasian taking a risk skipping on Rocker..... clearly he didn't see our #LoseForRocker push in 2020.
  5. Yes, they're bad. And I can't wait to hear what AW and the front office will say to show super advanced stats on how they've improved to justify it.
  6. He also refused to buy a ticket into October soooooo......
  7. True. Marsh and Adams can fill in at some point. Plus, it's easier to fill in free agents in the outfield than it is on the mound. At some point, it might be worth the idea of flipping Adell for a young arm like Marquez or someone.
  8. I hope it holds up with Suarez. He's really slowed his game down and finally looks comfortable. If he can maintain his momentum them the 2022 might look a lot different. Plus he's only 23. In no order... Ohtani Rodriguez Detmers Sandoval Suarez Canning
  9. What I meant was it would cost more than Adell (which they should trade for a deal like that). But I don't think they have any other strong prospects that would net them both... But I agree, the can't afford to pass up if the Rockies are willing to do it. Just might be overpriced.
  10. It'd become a bidding war with the A's for Story alone, But the Angels can dangle Adell in the talks if the Rockies are willing to include Marquez. But even that becomes a huge asking price that the Angels can't really afford in terms of prospects.
  11. I love the positive thinking. The starting rotation has looked more solid then it has in recent year. They still have a ways to go, but they've looked better. My main concern is with this bullpen. The Angels will give themselves false hope and remain frozen at the trade deadline because they have these winning and losing streaks. They will hover around the .500 mark again and they will have to rely on Trout coming back and carrying the entire team again. They are getting better, but are still far off.
  12. Yup! I think if he was healthy, he'd be in a three-way race with Guerrero Jr and Ohtani for MVP.
  13. I'd take Trout off this list. He was on a good pace as always until his injury.... But yes, the last 2 years have been quite strange in terms on stats.
  14. My main concern is the Angels getting a little hot towards the deadline and the FO falling somewhere in between selling/buying. They won't buy by trading someone like Adell/Marsh, but they also won't sell by trading someone like Iglesias (R or J), Heaney or Cobb. I can't imagine the FO being sellers while Trout is in his prime no matter how shitty they could get. One thing for sure is it'd be nice to see them become sellers and get this team reset a bit. Upton is a pipe dream, but DFA'ing Pujols was also a pipe dream...... I really hope Sandoval and Suarez aren't a fluke. 2022 could become a much different team if these guys really are here to stay.
  15. But the bullpen's history is "hold my beer".... it's a lose-lose situation. Sure we can base it off of history, but if that's the case then the Angels were screwed no matter what heading into that inning. Either give a little faith in Canning only to blow it based off his history or bring in certain bullpen arms who have blown it many times this year. I would have stuck with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" option. It's Canning's game to lose in that situation with that pitch count. Not the bullpen's......
  16. Angels will have the best starting ERA after all-star break..... Here we go! hahaha
  17. 2019 (Angels) 49 PA hit .103.... But jokes aside, the dude has been terrific. Great catcher with a hot bat right now. Arb 3 year in 2022 but should be an extension candidate.
  18. Yup i love the 7 inning rule and I'm for the runner on second. It makes things interesting immediately. But yeah, 3 batter minimum, the so called "pitch clock" is a joke and those damn shifts are annoying the hell out of me. Feels like a rover in a softball game. MLB: "Yeah.... Let's ban sticky substances so pitchers can have the edge and we can generate more offense" Also MLB: "Yeah... The shift is okay so you can take offense away"
  19. Good point. I've been having a tough time with Manfred. Baseball hasn't looked the same....
  20. Both have access to the tech in the dugout. Though i'm sure batters use it more. If MLB is worried then i'm just saying they need to level the playing field. If batters can get an edge using tablets while a new pitcher comes in or can review their AB between innings then let the pitchers get an edge with extra spin. Why not?... Plus, batters getting an edge (Astros 2017) clearly has never been an issue to MLB. But God forbid a pitcher uses some pine tar.....
  21. Every pitcher does this so why not leave it as it is? Even Ohtani picks stuff out of his glove so who honestly cares. If batters can stick it up then pitchers should too. If you don't want players getting an "edge" then eliminate the usage of tablets during games and allowing players to make visits to the video room between at-bats. Start there.
