Sam Blum should be talked too for being quick to react and deeming those comments as racist.... I get that something like that shouldn't be said on TV but we're lying to ourselves if we've NEVER joked in a different language/accent. Let alone how we are all attracted to a "type" of person. Yeah, but Seager isn't the best either. You'd basically be paying only for his bat. Might as well save the money and retain Iglesias.

I'd take Seager over anyone if we had to "sign" someone. Quite honestly, I'm content with re-signing Iglesias. Solid bat, solid glove, but most importantly, he's got great team chemistry with this squad. He's a spark plug and fun to be around.

My point exactly. 1: Extend Iglesias. 2: Trade for a Marlins arm 3: Sign Kris Bryant who can fill almost any need but will start in RF. 4: Call up Marte so we can see what he's got in the bullpen 5: Use remaining funds for SS options. Maybe bring back Iglesias.

Agreed, Seager would be fabulous. I still like the idea of Kris Bryant though. Reason be is if Rendon, Upton or Walsh gets injured then he's an immediate replacement. He could man the outfield as we swap one of Adell/Marsh to the Marlins for a solid arm. Could be a win/win for our offense and rotation.

Re-sign Cobb then call the Marlins Marah or Adell to headline a return on someone like Meyer, Alcantara, Sanchez or Lopez or a package of Adams and Canning for someone like Meyer or Cabrerea. Rotation depth like this: Cobb Ohtani Alcantara/Lopez/Meyer/Cabrera Sandoval Detmers Rodriguez Suarez Bachman Barria That's pretty damn solid and aside from Cobb, would cost next to noting.

I'm going honest, I think one reason why the Angels called up Marsh and Adell early is to allow other teams to take a look. It was rumored that the Angels and Marlins almost had a deal at the deadline involving Marsh and Meyer and I think a deal will be done in the offseason. 2022 Outfield will be one of Adell/Marsh, Trout, Upton and someone else.

They both have big upside but in their own way. Detmers has a Kershaw-like approach with a Kershaw/Zito curve and plays well with secondary pitches. Rodriguez has a fastball that has very good movement. He could become a setup/closer at one point, but I love his stuff in the rotation. He looked great in his first start. Ohtani/Sandoval/Rodriguez/Detmers/Suarez/Bachman is one hell of a cheap and solid rotation. Add in an arm from Miami and they have something going.

Just one game but had great results. His new shorter stance fits very well for him. Allows less movement but since he's so powerful it still allows him to mash. Didn't seem to be chasing those outside pitches yesterday either. It's one game. let's wait for judgement when the season ends. I just want to see him solidify his fielding. Was anyone else surprised he got his first career stolen base yesterday? I thought he for sure had one last year haha.

Angels play in New York then Philadelphia for the next series. Could be a great trip to attend!

Angels would need to clear room on the 40man and one guy I spoke with says it might be Hector Yan. But nothing is confirmed. Just a food for thought.

This might be a strange take but someone was mentioning injuries this year and who the backup would be but hear me out on this. 2021 we've seen vacancies due to injuries at 3B, LF, CF, RF (no solid player) and 1B. Out of all those positions there is ONE guy who can play at every one of those (and has done successfully).... Kris Bryant. He's likely worth 6yr/$138M This is where it's complicated right now. The young guns are killing it right now and they've earned the right to keep their position. If we can re-sign Cobb for the veteran arm the I think we need to flip one of Marsh/Adell/Adams to Miami. We MIGHT be able to get away with Adams for Cabrera or a package of Adams and Canning for Meyer.

The grade of D for me.... That may turn into a B+ I wanted the Angels to trade Raisel Iglesias and Cobb. It seems like some teams were willing to over pay and the Angels should have taken that opportunity to cash in. What worries me is if they give extensions to both of them and they don't sign. Since they didn't get traded, they better be signed or else it's a loss. I didn't give it a F because we got some possible bullpen help for the future. We shall see. What made me grade it a D was this quote from Perry Minasian: "This group has earned the opportunity to continue to compete". If the front office thinks we can compete against the A's, Yankees and Blue Jays for the second wild card spot then they're lying to themselves. That to me is a huge slap in the face to the organization and especially the fans. Rumors came out today that the Marlins and Angels were discussing a trade that involved Marsh from the Angels and Meyer from the Marlins. This is a match made in heaven with the Marlins' surplus of pitchers and the Angels' surplus of centerfield prospects. If Minasian can re-engage these negotiation with the Marlins during the offseason and can get a deal done then i'll change my grade to a B+.
