  1. What do you think? What would have happened had The Angels moved to Long Beach? The Angels would have truly been the Los Angeles Angels which would have ended any curse. But Anaheim at the very least would have been stuck with a stadium that probably never would have been used again, or the city would have demolished the stadium which probably would have been replaced by more condos. Either way, there would have been a big hole being left in the Platinum Triangle and the city as a whole.
  2. The good part about all of this is that Angel Stadium of Anaheim will stay in tact, and there won't be such a big hole left in the Platinum Triangle or the City of Anaheim. However, ever since the franchise started identifying with Los Angeles (36 miles away in another county), things have been going from bad to worse more and more with each passing season. This is something The Angels will just have to ride out.
  3. I am a 29 year member of Toastmasters International and the rules for Toastmasters Awards Presentations is: "All Awards Presentations (Speech Contest Awards, Achievement Level and Education Awards, etc) are FINAL. That means once the award presentation is placed in the recipient's hand, it can't be taken back. This is the way it needs to be with the Houston Astros World Series Rings and Championship. However, the franchise will have to live with what they did to obtain the W.S. Championship the rest of their lives, and it's never the same as having achieved a World Series Ring honestly. One Hundred years ago, when the Chicago Black Sox threw the World Series and broke the hearts of a lot of White Sox Fans, the players were banned from playing Major League Baseball for life, including Shoeless Joe Jackson who played his best, but took the mob's money, and Buck Weaver who played his best but knew what was going on and didn't tell anybody. The players on the Houston Astros who were involved in the cheating and sign stealing, or knew about it and didn't tell anybody should also be banned from playing Professional Baseball for life. As Shoeless Joe Jacks was locked out of the Hall of Fame forever, so should any players on the 2017 Houston Astros.
  4. For sure, Derek Jeter and Todd Helton (First Rockies Player). Jeff Kent is a maybe. The steroid bunch should stay as they are.
  5. For fifteen years, neither side has been willing to budge except maybe the new mayor, but he is only one person. The Angels haven't been treated very well by the city during the last 15 years, and it's probably time to look for greener pastures (like Long Beach).
  6. A Los Angeles team really has no place in The OC. I think there are more Angels Fans in L.A. County then a lot of people realize.
  7. Believe it or not, The Angels are an L.A. Team, and should be in L.A. County. If the old stadium were to be renovated, or a new one built, Anaheim won't do it or pay the bill unless the name were to go back to Anaheim Angels which will never happen and would not be a good idea at this point. All Anaheim will do basically is keep the place up to code, health and safety wise.
  8. I know they got beat by The Nationals, but they did make the Post Season.
  9. There are quite a few people who grew up in The Greater Los Angeles Area liking bother teams. I was one of them.
  10. I am pretty sure Arte Moreno is not as unhappy as a lot of people may think. He makes a profit every year because fans continue to stuff his pockets at the gate every year no matter how disappointing previous season was. I also believe there are a lot more fans now in L.A. County than people think, even more than there is in The OC. At this point, I really think it would be in the organization's best interests to make that move to Long Beach.
  11. Arte has had enough of the City of Anaheim and Orange County and the way he has been treated. They haven't been very accommodating to him the last 15 years, which is understandable. A lot of people still seem to be in complete denial that Arte Moreno has opted out of the lease and is leaving, probably for Long Beach. Arte is a good man (it took me a very long time to see this) but an L.A. Team has no place in The O.C.
  12. Age 81. She was the Actress who played Elly May Clampett on Beverly Hillbillies.
  13. The Angels don't have any rivalries, and the fans should be glad. The Rivalry with The Dodgers is all one-sided. The Dodgers and their fans really don't give two flying figs about The Angels. There are some fans in The Southland that are fans of both L.A. Teams. The L.A. Dodgers' Rivalry is with the San Francisco GIANTS which is the worse rivalry in all of Professional Sports, even over the Yankees and Red Sox.
  14. Curse of Jared Weaver? I think that would rate with the Curse of the Cowboy. I never gave any merit to The Curse of the Cowboy. One, I doubt that Anaheim Stadium was built on an Indian Burial Ground, and two, even if it was, that was the city's doing, not Gene Autry's and not The Angels Organization's doing. So, why would they be cursed? The Major League Urban Legends such as the "Curse of the Bambino (Red Sox)" or the "Curse of the Billy Goat (Cubs)" were basically "Poetic Justice" for the Front Offices of these two franchises putting themselves and greed FIRST over the Fans, and breaking a lot of hearts in the community. Those two MLB Urban Legends are not some superstitious hocus-pocus like the Curse of the Cowboy would suggest, but simply "Poetic Justice" for dissing fans and not putting them first. The "Curse of the Black Sox" is another example of that, except it was players putting themselves first, and breaking a lot of fan's hearts. I believe that there is an urban legend much like The Bambino or The Billy Goat which is affecting The Angels (Journalist Dana Parsons of the Los Angeles Times was the author in 2008), but it's not the Curse of the Cowboy and not Jared Weaver. I just had a book published on this.
  15. Nothing has gone right for this franchise at least since I moved from The OC to Colorado Springs nine years ago. The Anaheim Ducks have only missed two NHL Post Seasons since they won the Stanley Cup in 2007. I think maybe The L.A. Angels need to make that move to Downtown Long Beach.
  16. This is my 48th children's e-book to be published by Kindle Direct Publishers, and the last book which will be published until after 2020 starts. My Congratulations go out to the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Team (and the city I grew up in) on the 25th Anniversary of this NHL Franchise. Since winning the Stanley Cup back in 2007, The Anaheim Ducks have only missed the NHL Play-offs twice. Thank you for these twenty five years and for remaining loyal to the Anaheim/Orange County Community. THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XJL8R98
