*April and March reg. season games

They've had a .500 record or better in 9 of 17 seasons. They've been within 3 games of .500 in 5 additional seasons, and had bad records in 2001, 2012, and 2013. That's it.

I think he made his point. The Angels have been down right nothing more than mediocre at best in the first month.

The good news?  Scioscia is gone after this year!!!!

Yes he looked like garbage and that was a bad decision, but he did it literally because not a single person was hitting.  If Albert, Trout or Hamilton hits .200 in that series we could have been up 2-0.

And if my Aunt had balls she would be my Uncle.

Woulda shoulda coulda... how much longer are you sheep going to follow MS and his BS?  Read the article. I mean ACTUALLY read point number six and let it sink in.

Might be a Craig but came across this and thought it was relevant to where the discussion has ended up:

I just read this and thought, its been a while since I have been on AW to complain about Sciosica being manager.  I have been to one, single, game this year - Opening Day.  Thats all this team gets from me until he is gone.

For those of you who haven't clicked on the link above... go straight to point number 6.  Its all you really need to read.

  4. If you read the article, I can tell you what the difference is between Eppler letting Butcher and Baylor go and Dipoto letting Hatcher go... and Scioscia mentions it when he says, "Butch has a lot to offer. I know he’ll get a role and be a terrific pitching coach."

Butcher very well may get another shot at being a pitching coach.... there is no ****ing way in hell that any other team and I mean ANY. OTHER. TEAM. would ever hire Mickey ****ing Hatcher to be their ball boy, let alone, their hitting coach.

  5. It's pretty sad when you let a manager get in your way from enjoying something you love.

Here's the situation as I see it.  Scioscia refuses to use analytics and scouting reports - we know this from Dipoto.  Why wouldn't anyone want to use every advantage to win?  Yet Scioscia ignores facts.  He goes with his gut.

So if it comes down to me wanting the team to win more than the Manager, it tells me, I need to save my stomach and my blood pressure and step away.  It is only going to frustrate me more by watching it... becuase he will not make the moves that should be made.

The game has passed him by.  When he leaves, I will return.

  6. If Scioscia is allowed to manage again next year, Arte is just going to have to pony up to buy more tickets at the end of the year so he can hit the 3M mark.

Scioscia is the single reason that I have tanken a step back from caring about the Angels.  As long as he is there, I, and a lot of other fans, will continue to take a step back.

The Angels front office is a joke.

  7. Arte is financially and personally invested in his team. He wants to win more badly then any of you. Have no doubt of that.

I have loads of doubt and don't believe he wants to win anymore than some here do. If he did he would be using all the resources at hand to make the team better. Including allowing the GM to do his job.

Sorry, but Arte, just like any other owner, is in it for the money. He invested and he had quadrupled his money in a little over a decade. Good for him. We still have the same manager that is managing from his gut and the last I checked, there is still only one WS trophy in the case.

  8. I don't understand why Scioscia, speaking to the media yesterday, credited the analytics offered by Dipoto but then refuses to use/embrace them.

Then he was coy about Dipoto's status, pretending to be confused when it was already confirmed Dipoto was gone. That really pissed me off. I'm finally realizing that he was probably insulting Dipoto all along with his very subtle Scioscia speak, misrepresenting certain situations, etc, and it sailed right over our heads.

I have come the conclusion that Scioscia is a bonafide liar when it comes down to matters of the team of the field. He is going to tell the press what he wants them to write and that it. Truth or not. And most times it's not.

  9. I started disliking arte during spring training 2014.

We had some good seats between homeplate and the angels dugout. About 5 rows behind arte.

He brought his personal cooler with what must have been a 12 pack of coors light. He went through that pack in about 4 innings. BC some clubhouse guy took the cooler (I assume refilled it) and then brought it back 10 min later and arte grabs a cold one.

He could pay millions for players to beat his own team but can't throw a few bucks to get drunk.

    Coors Light???

Enough said. Disney without a doubt.
