    • 3 failed efforts to add frontline SP in Syndergaard, Anderson, Giolito
    • Long list of awful relief pitching signings
    • Bad extensions for Stassi and Fletcher, who weren't even free agents at the time
    • Consistently acquiring players who predictably regressed after previously outperforming their peripheral and advanced stats or coming off career outlier seasons -- like Tyler Anderson, Ryan Tepera, Aaron Loup, Lucas Giolito
    • Usage of most players in the league multiple times due to having to shuffle through wildly incompetent depth signings like Kurt Suzuki, Juan Lagares, Tyler Wade, etc.
    • Failed to adequately apply platoons to mitigate production drop off when players sustained injuries
    • Lost Ohtani
    • Coaching staff was a shitshow during Ohtani competitive window
    • Rushed Silseth, Bachman, O'Hoppe, and Neto's development and all suffered significant injuries
    • Had public falling out with one of the most successful and well respected managers of the recent era
    • Flip-flopping organizational values year-in and year-out
      • One year he hires driveline guys and emphasizes stuff+, the next he gets rid of them and emphasizes fastballs and throwing strikes
      • One year he gives Raisel Iglesias one of the richest RP contracts of all time, the next he trades him for nothing in a contract dump
      • One year he hires Phil Nevin with no managerial experience to be Ray Montgomery's analytics puppet, the next he hires the oldest manager in the league

At this point Minasian's only redeeming quality has been moderate success in the draft -- by drafting the consensus most "pro-ready" collegiate players and rushing through the system. Is this really some sort of rocket science strategy that another GM couldn't replicate?

At this point I am at a total loss for why this guy is still here. Drafting Zach Neto and trading Marsh (a top 10 CF in the league) for Logan O'Hoppe do not compensate for the overwhelming incompetence this guy has demonstrated the past 3 years. I'll be surprised if he makes it through July.

angels young international group of players have been looking great since perry got here. for that reason alone i would keep him.

In the ESPN story it says that a Spokesman for Ohtani told ESPN the slugger had transferred the funds to cover Mizuhara's gambling debt.

I am curious who this Spokesman is, and was he fired by Ohtani after signing an NDA.

Yup no name yet but it sounds like Ohtani straight up hired a fixer, or sorry a ''crisis management spokesman''. And like everyone else in the timeline he never talked to Ohtani to get his side or iron out the next moves. Kind of strange since it was this fixer person who set up the large Dodgers in house meeting where Ohtani was attending as well. Guy supposedly never talked to Ohtani to tell him what was actually going to be said at the meeting (lol). Quite possibly the worst fixer in the history of fixers. But with the media on their side and Ippei probably getting paid under the table to take full responsibility and more than likely Ohtani not wanting to press charges for the theft it will all just go away. Or well at least until the Bowers guy is facing a long prison sentence and he wants to tell his side of all of this.

  3. also sorry but no way in hell is the dodgers top brass showing up in front of the full dodgers team and tell them ippie first story without speaking to ohatni and or his pr team first to make sure that is what ohtani wanted the dodgers players to know. by going this i didn't know route that means the dodgers brass took ippie story and then called a team meeting to explain everything without even talking to ohatni and confirming the story lol

  4. i really like how a lot of the big name media personalities are just running with ippei second story of ''it was all me guys i swear'' and not even mentioning he had two completely different stories only days apart. credit to espn for giving the full story.

also can only imagine most of japanese media and mlb and the doggie doo doo's will all be pushing that ippei's master theft tricks haven't been seen since the like of danny ocean and brad pitt

    X poll results are in.

A more accurate poll one that the owners are actually basing their decisions on would be ''If Trevor Bauer was signed would you still support (tickets & merch) the Angles'' ... The % should be much lower than 30% but owners are looking at it as why have to give up any % ...

Now if Bauer was signed and performs well and the Angels are in a playoff hunt the increased interest would mean more ticket sales and those sales would make up for the supporters who left ... So maybe Artie doesn't really believe the Angels will be a playoff contending team even if signing him, so what's the point of losing any fans/money on signing him ...

Personally I think the MLB owners know any woman Bauer has ever come in contact with could possibly be another legal mess no matter if they're telling the truth or lying and just seeking money , so it's just not worth the risk to them

This is dumb , a LA version of it would be like saying I don't want to be a Dodger and live in Hollywood , Burbank , Westwood , Santa Monica , Brentwood , Bell Air or Calabasas areas because 1 - 2 square miles of downtown LA is a zombie apocalypse hell hole ... SF county like LA county is gigantic with the vast majority of places to live and go being very nice ... And lets be honest rich F are very good at being able to isolate themselves away from poorer people and use their influence to get cities to keep homeless boxed into specific locations away from anywhere they want to go on the regular

Ohtani didn't pick the Giants because they're not that much better than the Angels and their playoff chances every year is a coin flip ... Ohtani picked the Dogshits because they're guaranteed to be in the playoffs year in and year out and if they finally win a World Series he (if he just plays decent) will get all of the credit of being the one to finally get them over the top
