  1. MLB postponed indefinitely, so we'll see about this.
  2. Easily. I wouldn't trust any numbers in America right now
  3. No, just the way the virus acts. It spreads exponentially. Italy is two weeks further into the curve than the US. It's actually ~8-9 days behind for France/Spain/Germany and ~11 days behind for the US. So within that time frame, you will see case numbers starting to look more and more like Italy. Except the US isn't really testing, so who knows what the real numbers are. Here's an article I found. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/flatten-the-curve-coronavirus/2020/03/12/a648883c-6460-11ea-8a8e-5c5336b32760_story.html%3foutputType=amp
  4. Hadn't thought about this, but very good points!
  5. Too bad the NBA recently took down the YouTube channel with all the NBA classic content
  6. NCAA baseball cancelled too. They added an extra year of eligibility to affected players. I wouldn't be surprised if there's no baseball until June.
  7. This is why shutting down is important, but the US has failed to act quickly. Reactive instead of proactive because Trump is trying to save the stock market. But yeah, most people will be fine. They'll just help spread it to those who won't be fine. TP and Lysol hysteria is a bit much, for sure. The economic impact is going to last longer than people think though. Supply and demand shocked at the same time. This summer will be rough for the global economy. Also, I've been in Italy for the last few weeks, and it's brutal. Apparently the rest of Europe and the US are 1-2 weeks behind Italy, so we'll see. The current US testing numbers are a joke because of the lack of testing, but we'll get a big jump in confirmed cases once testing is implemented. P.S. I hope the investors on here jumped into put options a few weeks ago..
  8. I think people are getting caught up on the term biological. I don't think it's anything special or different than usual. Probably reevaluate in 6 weeks. Also, plenty of pitchers have injections without needing TJ. And all pitchers will have chronic wear and tear on elbow when you look at scans. We'll see.
  9. Possibly relevant research https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4121921/
  10. De-hydro-chlor-methyl-testosterone De-hydro-chlor-methyl-testosterone De-hydro-chlor-methyl-testosterone De-hydro-chlor-methyl-testosterone .... Nope
  11. Arenado is complicated because he has an opt out. If the Rockies are afraid of him leaving, they would be wise to trade him for assets. And I think that's what they'll end up doing. If they also decide to trade Story, they probably have a fire sale.
  12. Fangraphs also has a payroll tracker if you want to compare! https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/angels?season=2019 https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/payroll/angels?season=2020
  13. For competitive balance tax purposes, yes. But those calculations use AAV. You are referring to this payroll. I think Jeff is just saying Arte only cares about how much money leaves his bank account each year. Jeff is referring to this payroll, and it's different than above because it's not AAV. Here is more info on AAV calculation for your payroll (page 118). Tl;dr. Signing bonus is averaged into AAV, so exact payment timing doesn't matter.
  14. I'm very curious to see how this goes, actually.
  15. Some other time between now and the trade deadline?
  16. Correct But linear is a line that's straight And curve is a line that's not straight
