    Darvish is older and more expensive. A lot of miles on his arm too, especially from Japan. I'd love to have him, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk. I guess it would depend on the trade

    Wow Polanco has really fallen off for the Pirates. Otherwise he'd be a trade target. Looks like he can't recognize pitches at all anymore. Chase rate and whiff rate. Maybe needs an eye exam

    I think it's why Bauer abandoned the 1 year deal idea he used to have. Maximize guaranteed money in the face of covid uncertainty. Makes sense. Lower salary in the first year or two won't be an issue IMO

    Not sure that team "expected" to compete given their rotation, but an elite season by Jarrod Washburn certainly helped. And a young Lackey in the playoffs especially. Great depth on offense too. Oh but yeah definitely just the bullpen

    Blake Snell won the CY young in 2018 and Charlie Morton placed 3rd in 2019. A Snell/Morton/Glasnow caliber TOR is exactly what I'm saying is needed in order to expect to compete
