  1. this game should have been on PPV; I would have paid NOT to watch it
  2. because...as goober says... he's one of the best hitters ever
  3. he looks like a guy who got lost on his way to the rec league night game, somehow ended up in Angels stadium at first base
  4. This Harris guy, ugh...makes me almost wish Poohoo was in there.
  5. He's an equal opportunity ripper. That's what he does, mix it up with the LA area team currently playing, most likely playing badly. Even with the streak its pretty easy to pick on the Angel's batch of millionaires, but this article targeted Kemp (another inviting target).
  6. Watched same KC fox feed today (and yesterday). I don't remember Physioc being such a homer as he is now. Hud, yes. Perhaps we don't notice it as much on the home side, although I don't remember Rojas doing it much. It was pretty depressing listening to BOTH of them begging for hits, strikes, and taking such delight in the blown call at 1B. They went on and on about the blown call with Trout yesterday, and even more today. Ugh. You guys can have goober, his pitching commentary is OK, but geez stop rambling on about how to hit, drive the ball, et al. Either way, his capt obvious monotone is B O R I N G.
  7. I love Weavs but if he returns with his 85mph fastball form, there will be no ace to be found
  8. A little optimism is healthy. Vargas has looked conspicuously decent. The BP can't possibly get any worse. Frieri needs to stay as closer, Madson is a ways from that. Weav returning with his 85mph fastball may not be the spark folks are anticipating. Blanton should ONLY be used for long relief in a lopsided game.
  9. Good read. Beyond the obvious failure of mega contracts lies a team that appears content with losing. No fire or hunger, terms so synonymous with the 2002 club. Perhaps a by-product of mega long term contracts, guys who have reached the MLB financial pinnacle, including the manager. What is left to achieve?
  10. I'm a multi-millionaire with a guaranteed 10yr contract, so go talk to someone who gives a shit
  11. Pujols long term contract @ $250M = $3B Fox contract over 20yrs. Probably closer to 36, now off the roids, sit him, play him, Arte doesn't care, he's already got the chicken in the sack. Astute business move. Scioscia and Hamilton, not so much.
  12. key qualifier: "right now" more time to turn more pages and tip more caps and since, as some around here profess, Scioscia isn't responsible for bad hitters, poor fielders, bad baserunners, turrible pitchers, and losing, then his contract should be extended indefinitely
  13. Fizz was a solid company man. Hud, well, he's one of a kind. Always enjoyed him. Rojas may be the best play-play guy this side of Enberg/Scully. Goober is capt obvious in monotone, reading screen popups verbatim, describing a base hit...to left field, left fielder picks up ball, throws ball to 2nd base... Super commentary there goober! Capped off with ... if they can just get on base for Pujols, the best hitter in baseball. Uh, not so much.
  14. First thot when I saw him lumbering out to the field...OMG, do they have an ambulance nearby??? Wonder who would win a race to first between Scioscia and Pooeyhols?
  15. Dipoto's "our best team" is aimed at Scioscia. No luv lost between these two. If Mikey is as smart as people say, he's already lining up the Doggies.
  16. Trout will be fine, as soon as he drops about 20lbs. Losing Aybar and PB, definite factors. Weav, maybe, but that 85mph heater looms as a hugh concern. The winner of the what went wrong sweepstakes is: the Moreno strategy of hiring the most famous, expensive players in the world while shipping away the farm system. This team is old (no way Pujols is just 32), slow, dull, and BAD.
  17. fits right in with this team Re goober, he means well but he's not capt obvious, he's admiral obvious - reads the screen prompts verbatim, droning on in his monotone delivery more this year than in the past; I like Rojas, you can sense his frustration with the Angels and he'll occasionally depart from the company script with criticism; goober never does that
  18. Screw the Doggies and their gang banger infested park. Angels stadium still remains a decent place to spend a day, except for the baseball of course.
