  1. He does have some footsie problems, but wasn't exactly swift before his problems. Painful to watch, probably for him also. LOL responses, but frankly the least of the Angel's problems. If he could suddenly run normally, Angels would still be 4-10.
  2. "We like what we see on the post game buffet table. Good variety and large portions. I need to leave now, gotta get in line."
  3. They'll fire all the symptoms first (hatch/butch er), then deal with the cause
  4. yea, there were an awesome 2-3 at home before the failos waltzed in
  5. not at all...I predicted they'd kick the Angels around, but geez who hasn't A's are young and aggressive Angels are rich and satisfied
  6. Scioscia should be proud. His team is nearly as laid back as he is.
  7. Pretty standard for Staples. Lakers grunting core (Kobe, Gasol) are the best in the NBA. Grunts = fouls called
  8. My post of 7 April, right after Tx smoked the Angels...needs updating
  9. By all means, lets not hold the manager accountable for his team's performance
  10. Team performance is well below expectations in 2012 and in early 2013 isn't meeting expectations because they can't hit with RISP and allow too many runs. Manager has a long contract because of past achievement and doesn't hit or pitch so isn't responsible . So he shouldn't be fired. Company (pick one) performance is well below projections in 2012 and in early 2013 continues on the same trend. Manager isn't responsible because he doesn't do the work and has a long contract because of past achievement, so he shouldn't be fired. I get it now.
  11. Yup While we're at it, lets fire Arte for hiring Dipoto...geez
  12. Pretty easy to pile on now. Saw this coming. The A's play to win. The Angels play from paycheck to paycheck. Nothing much different from last year, just bigger paychecks. One thing you can count on, Scioscia will remain the epitomy of calmness and serenity.
  13. First of all, neither of us has any insight into the clubhouse. My opinion (that's what we do here isn't it?) is based on observing the Angels play on the field. Never once mentioned clubhouse. OK, so Albert is a workoutaholic. Fine. I'm talking about on the field energy and enthusiasm. Most of this team is as laid back as Mr. even keel. Sure they're dedicated, nice fellows all, but the objective is to kick some ass on the field. Too complacent are we, whilst leaving about 600 guys on base. Too blessed to be stressed.
  14. There is an interesting theme in this predictable "dump Scioscia" reaction...how to inject some enthusiasm in a bunch of multi-millionaires who get paid win or lose. Scioscia's stoic, turn the page mentality works well for a hungry, aggressive team (the small ball days). Not so much for a team of satisfied players with long term, big contracts, If they slump, oh well...on to the next paycheck, while Scioscia is telling everyone they will come around so turn the page. Leave 3 guys on base with no outs, oh well, jog back to the dugout and make sure you don't show any emotion. Your manager won't. No worries, you'll be in there the next game. The counter argument - they are professionals, don't need an incentive and/or a manager that pushes them - is a reasonable one, IF the team has a core of self motivated, aggressive players. Beyond Weaver and Trout, just don't see it with these guys. Way too satisfied. And with a 10 year contract extension himself, Scioscia is pretty satisfied...
  15. The real issue here: not Scioscia (can't believe I said that), not Jepper, rather CJ 1st inning implosion + 600 guys left on base, 2 measly runs on a dozen hits in 4 or so innings. Said it 3 days ago...the A's will beat this team, they just want it more. Scioscia should focus on what he knows best, making sure the postgame spread is on time.
  16. This will really get interesting if the A's come into Anaheim and kick these guys around...not as unlikely as some believe.
  17. Weavs fastball at 84 - had to be something wrong. Hope it isn't long term. Kendrick going for a record LOB.
  18. Too early to be stressed, but don't expect Downs numbers to improve much. He lost it midway last year and hasn't found it since. Hamilton has to be very anxious to get out of Texas, with his family thing compounding the ugly at bats.
  19. Holland interview...whoopie "I look like I'm 16" not so much, but you talk like you're 16
  20. It was obvious Downs had lost whatever magic he had during last years second half. He hasn't done ANYTHING to prove otherwise. His fastball is mostly BP so he relies on his offspeed stuff. He's toast. Use him for lefty hitters ONLY. As to our MOTO...ugh.
  21. Northern San Diego county: On FSW/PT, Angels and Doggies were blacked out last year, but oddly not this year - yet. Subscribed to Extra Innings so my mom can watch Dbacks. Extra Innings is not blacking out the Angels games either.
  22. Oddly, I'm getting the Angels game today on both FSW and MLB Extra Innings. Guess I don't understand the blackout rules after all...
