  1. really great having Albert Pujols and Hamilton following Trout, sure fire way to leave your best hitter on base
  2. always encouraging to see the Albert Pujols in the 3rd slot
  3. Perfect. He'll dominate the Angels, especially the fearsome MOTO with Albert Pujols and Hamilton.
  4. Blanton tomorrow; Albert Pujols in 3rd spot: sweep a comin
  5. Hey mikey, keep sticking Albert Pujols in the 3rd slot behind Trout. Working out really well.
  6. walk Trout to get to the Albert Pujols? I would
  7. perhaps the only reply to any topic where Albert and productive are used in the same sentence I once thought nothing could be worse than Abreu hitting 3rd. Well....
  8. much prefer watching CJ pitch than watching Albert Pujols as the black hole hitting 3rd
  9. yup, WAY more paycheck and expectation Albert resembles an overpaid Abreu (who himself was only removed from the 3 spot by getting released by Dipoto)
  10. we're in this thing, especially with our MOTO sluggers
  11. when his name is Pujols and his manager turns the page
  12. He WAS one hell of a baseball player. No doubt. Angels fans haven't seen any part of the once great Pujols on a consistent basis. Reminds me of when Gubizca (Angels color commentator) drools over Alberts career numbers against some pitcher. Frankly it's meaningless with the current Albert. Still capable of putting up great numbers, perhaps, but unlikely. He fouls off or misses pitches he once crushed and leaves a lot of guys on base. If he truly is 33, it's an OLD 33. He runs like he's 45. Yea, I know, foot problems...alway something when you get older.
  13. After "finding himself" in early June, he has returned to Albert Pujols, hitting .163 over the last 10 games. He resembles an overpaid Abreu at the plate. Will he turn it on against the cards? I think the more realistic question is can he still turn it on against anyone? Trout should be hitting 3rd, this Albert should be down in the lineup with Hamilton.
  14. The Albert Pujols is looking like aging mush at the plate. and why is Iannetta playing, can't catch, can't hit???
  15. Best hitter on team and leads the team with .548 SLG%, ranked 10th in MLB. No question he should be hitting 3rd. Next closest is Trumbo @ 46th. Plus Albert Pujols needs to go down in the order, closer to his fellow underperforming multi-millionaire. Pujols is 77th in SLG%, can't run, and kills a lot of potential rallys. PB Kendrick Trout Trumbo Albert Pujols Hamilton Collapse Conger (Iannetta can't hit) Aybar
  16. watching the Detroit feed...even they are feeling sorry for Pujols Trout should be hitting 3rd, move the Albert Pujols to 5th behind Trumbo, or 6th next to the other mega contract bust
  17. Difficult to argue the turn-the-page/tip-your-cap mentality is working with this bunch. A lot of people, I believe, are too quick to dismiss the unemotional, disinterested appearance of this team and their manager. The "even keel" worked pretty good with a motivated, energetic team (2002), not so much with this crew. I don't believe there is much of a message beyond the we'll get better proclamations. How long did it take Scioscia to drop a horrible Hamilton in the lineup?...WAY too long. What are the consequences of cavalier efforts, trotting to first base, throwing to home instead of 2nd base, et al? Turn the page, don't wallow. What motivation do Pujols and Hamilton truly have to get better? They are both past the zenith of their careers, financially endowed, with little left to achieve. Contrast that with the incentive of younger players to get better - to achieve what Pujols and Hamilton have. Yet another item on the top ten list why to avoid huge, long term contracts with famous FAs. Trout is perhaps a once in a lifetime player, his best years still ahead. No way do you trade this guy to compensate for Pujols and Hamilton, or the mediocre pitching staff. He has the skill and will to get better, ultra rare commodities. This team must get younger/hungrier. It won't be pretty for awhile, but hopefully build the foundation for a future with Trout in his prime. Everyone else is expendable (incl Scioscia), though it should be an overwhelming offer to part with Trumbo.
  18. The enlightened among this forum will tell you "scrappers and fighters" don't win baseball games. That is, we should applaud the Scioscia even keel and turn the page stoicism as he knows best. Short of Trout, Trumbo, Weavs, a few others, the only hunger on this team likely involves the post game spread. This team has too many satisfied millionaires, including the manager.
  19. The "blowup" logic escapes me. Whatever they do, they're still stuck with the Albert Pujols and Hamilton. So lets go get some new faces to surround the multi-millionaire underachievers? Pujols is a shadow of what he was and Hamilton is a serious head case. No amount of "blowup", or trading what little actual talent the Angels have (like Trumbo) will change this. There is no easy (or quick) solution to the hole this team has dug.
  20. Weavs was 85mph before breaking his left arm. No reason to expect anything different now. Something happened over the winter.?. He's pretty much BP now.
