1978 Traded Danny Goodwin, Ron "Poppa Jack" Jackson to the Twins for Dan Ford.
1979 Traded Dave Engle, Paul Hartzell, Brad Havens and Kenny Landreaux to the Twins for Rod Carew.

July 1979 home series with the Skanks, after Ryan nearly no-hit them on Friday night, Baylor tied the game in the 9th with a 3 run HR that hit the LF foul pole.   They rallied from a big early deficit to win it in the 12th on Merv Rettenmund's double down the RF line.   Then Grich homered off of Gossage in the bottom of the 9th on Sunday to complete as great of a regular season weekend sweep as there has been at Angel Stadium. 
In Dick Enberg's words on tv (yes, calling that game on tv)...."It's hit the foul pole.  He hit the FOUL POLE.   Oh my!"
