Hubs got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Moreno Family Exploring Sale of the Los Angeles Angels
Right, with either it would have to be a group.

Hubs got a reaction from JVel17 in Moreno Family Exploring Sale of the Los Angeles Angels
It will likely be an ownership group, and one name to watch is Theo Epstein. He's been rumored to want a Stan Kasten type deal, and though many fault Moreno for the many issues he has, it's not that he's a bad owner, he's a bad baseball guy and hasn't understood team organization and baseball decisions. Scioscia was the baseball guy in the clubhouse for 19 years, 15 under Moreno. While there were GM problems and bad decisions, not having a baseball mind in charge of the organization is the real problem, and its been exposed under the DiPoto and Eppler GM.
Stoneman also was a huge guiding influence on Moreno's early years.
But, if Epstein is interested, you have to talk to him if you're a big money guy, like Ballmer or Cuban, or others.
From wikipedia....Stan Kasten
Stan Kasten (born February 1, 1952, in Lakewood Township, New Jersey) is the former president of the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals, and the current president and part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Long involved in Atlanta professional sports, he also served as general manager of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks and president of the NHL's Atlanta Thrashers.
A native of New Jersey, Mr. Kasten became the youngest NBA general manager in 1979 when he joined the Atlanta Hawks at age 27. In 1986 he took over as president of both the Hawks and Ted Turner 's other franchise, the Atlanta Braves, where he stayed until 2003. He landed in Washington in 2006 as president of the Nationals franchise, stepping down after the 2010 season.[25]
He has won two NBA Executive of the Year awards, three NBA division titles, and, with the Braves, 12 baseball division titles, five National League pennants and one World Series Championship.[25]
This is what the Angels need. And Epstein is perfect for the job. He knows what an organization needs to be successful. Perry can stay as GM, Epstein president. He can hire scouts and improve the farm, and build a new ballpark, and Perry can handle the day to day with someone like Epstein to guide him.
I heard this on 710, from John Ireland, who said this is something Epstein has been after and if that's true, then it needs to happen.

They won't leave Los Angeles Metro.
Leaving the 2nd largest market in sports even as the second team, will not happen in today's world.
But Long Beach, Carson, etc. all options.

Elon is not interested in owning a baseball team. If he was he would've bought one.
More than likely it will be a partner situation, like with the Dodgers.

I don't think Samueli has the liquid assets. He's the sentimental OC choice, but the Angels would represent possibly 40% of his net worth.

Forbes has them worth 2.2 Billion, quite an uptick from the 184 million Disney sold them to Moreno for.

It's not if you pay attention. This team's biggest problem is that they are 25th in runs scored.

Hubs got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in Jared Walsh's Future: what do you think the Angels WILL do with Jared Walsh next season?
You're fighting with nearly all of the long time posters. You forget that you challenged me on my beliefs that Nevin is doing a piss poor job, simply for having a different opinion. I think you should try Halos Heaven or a different site. Good luck man.

Who do we think? I'm in the Nevin has done an absolutely terrible job camp. I think Moreno pushes to rehire Scioscia.

Hubs got a reaction from OhtaniSan in Has Jose Suarez put it all together?
I have a lot of faith in Quijada, Ortega, Barria, and Herget going forward. Not to mention Joyce and his 105 MPH fastball that basically made Iglesias tradeable.
In addition to the three veterans the young guys here plus the depth of arms they have in the minors should be a sufficient bullpen if used properly.

If they can sign one starter, then they have Detmers, Sandoval and Suarez to be 3/4/5 and about 5-6 candidates for the 6th starter role, they'll be in good shape, and just need to add offense.
Loup, Bradley (probably re-signed), and Tepera are back for the bullpen.

He'll be the Angels closer or 8th inning guy by midseason 2023. There's not a lot to work on when you throw that hard. Just Ask Frankie or Percy.

But they're 2nd in triples. I don't see the problem here

I was making fun of the posters and twitter fans that only wanted pitching last offseason.
The pitching actually has been pretty good. Starters have been below 4 ERA all season, and that's with some suspect fill ins.
With a better offense this team would still be in the playoff hunt.

Seriously though they need to add 3-4 offensive pieces, including a RH 1B platoon partner who can play the OF too...
A starting MINF allowing Rengifo and Fletcher to platoon at 2nd and fill in at SS and 3rd.
A backup C who can actually hit.
Maybe a starting OF.
