Not a lot of progress on the streaming platforms and Angles games. Seems only DirectTV's crappy streaming service still has Bally Sports West, wouldn't be surprised if they lost it soon like all the others. Fucking stupid. I have a VPN through work so I suppose I'll try that + MLB TV.

I've been waiting for the outcome of this too and it's pretty hard to comprehend, considering how close they were to their car, can't believe one of them couldn't make it out of there to save their child. I think they were from the bay area originally so maybe the steep route combined with unexpected 105+ heat and direct sun was just something they'd never experienced. Happens all the time in the desert but this seems highly unusual. The dog is a head scratcher too, considering they weren't far from the river. Same experience. Got my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday. No reaction to the first, but this one hit me like a ton of bricks about 12 hours later. Fever, chills, headache, bodyaches. Didn't sleep much, feel like absolute garbage today.

Thought I could fight the good fight but spent last week at the in-laws and they had MLB package so watched a ton of Angels. Realized I'm not going to go the whole summer without the Angels on every night. Got home and signed up for AT&T TV. Seems pretty similar to Sling/YoutubeTV/Hulu etc. $85 a month is ridiculous but it does have the Lakers station and HBO Max is free for a year, so price-wise it's pretty similar to what I've been forking over every month.

I'd either come up tomorrow before the next storm or not at all, the roads are already a shit show, can't imagine how backed up they'll be on Saturday.

Been following this fire closely since I live in Arrowhead, so unfortunate it couldn't be stopped at the 38 near Forest Falls. Sounds like last night it spilled over the ridge near Angelus Oaks and they are expecting it to run up to the 38 again further north. Seems like this could get real bad if it gets established north of the 38 toward Big Bear or into the Santa Ana River drainage toward Running Springs.

Had a similar experience camping at Whitney Portal last year. For a month before we went my wife was in a panic about bears because of what she read online, I kept teasing her about it because, though I know there are bears all over these camp sites, it's not like you hear much about bear attacks. Anyway, first night, just after sunset, I'm a few whiskeys in around the campfire and my wife suddenly grabs my arm and a huge bear emerges out of the woods about 10 feet from us. And it just wandered right by me, sniffed the bear locker, then went on to the next site. By day 3 it was as scary as a loose dog.
