At the start of the off season the Angels were talking to Freese's agent but obviously the numbers were far from 1 year $3 million. To act like the Angels made a mistake not waiting until the second week of spring training to scoop him up that cheap is sheer idiocy.

It is also an assumption that Giavotella can play 2B. His 2015 defensive performance was completely unacceptable.

How do you know Freese was willing to accept a one-year $3m contract back in December when the Escobar trade occurred? Realistically, he wasn't. Freese's agent was still looking for something more like 3/30 back then.

Freese at 3rd and Escobar at 2nd > Escobar at 3rd and Gia at 2nd. Offensively and defensively.

I have the same ERA but won't be wearing any damn uniform. He has to earn a start at this point and 78mph is not going to cut it.

Come on all. The new folks from the MLB board and Red_Planet (specifically) are a small bit of a culture shock on AW. It has to be a shock for both for them coming here and for those of us here.

Today I was asked if I wanted strawberry or grape jelly on my PBJ. It was, at the time, a really difficult decision. You know your at some dump breakfast shop where you ask for jelly and either you get one packet of grape (that covers about a half a slice of toast) or some gooey jar full with a spoon in it and you know one of the homeless guys in there licked the spoon. Strawberry on the other hand can be only slightly better. Unless it is a good brand you are eating grape jelly with strawberry seeds and red food dye. My brother will grab the jam tray of packets and spoon out all of the good ones like blackberry, strawberry, raspberry and he is not even having breakfast, he just scams the jams and leaves the grape and orange marmalade. As I've gotten older I've come to appreciate orange marmalade, it's like some grandmother's recipe where she slips in some peel. Old school before all of the food channel snobs showed up and you can't have some simple dessert that is sugary and delicious, it has to be made of kale, and pine nuts (sunflower seeds for snobs) with a bitter element and other horse shit. Marmalade goes great with a Monte Cristo sandwich that is off the diet for a long, long time. I chose grape.

Are you sure? He might just be more like a 16 year old cat that wanders the house moaning and pooping on the carpet all night.

I have no opinion on CJ Wilson's current physical status, but something isn't quite right with the way the Angels are handling Tyler Skaggs.
 
This isn't a situation where they are being cautious bringing him back after 12 months. He has rehabilitated perfectly for the past 18 months. Already very methodical.
 
Are the Angels using the DL to stash Skaggs? Unless they aren't releasing some information, Skaggs should be pitching on a Spring Training mound this weekend.
