+1, ESPN 30 for 30s are really good and The Two Escobars is probably my favorite 30 for 30 and I've seen quite a few.
Some of my other personal favorites:
The Band that Wouldn't Die - the story of the Baltimore Colts marching band and its rebirth.
Into the Wind - The story of Terry Fox and his run across Canada.
The Price of Gold - Tanya Harding's story before and during the 1994 Olympic Games
Big Shot - The story about John Spano's audacious con in purchasing the New York Islanders.

With the way TV content is being done now, cable channels and traditional TV as we know it is on its way out. The traditional TV channel is slowly going to die off, like the print industry. With platforms like twitch, youtube, playstation vue, apple tv, and roku, the traditional tv channels are on their way out.  I think the leagues will still get the same amount of rights fees for broadcasting, the number of viewers hasn't changed, it's the way they're watching it is.

I was driving home one day on the 105 and I accidentally cut a guy off.  He then follows me for a few miles and passes me on the right honks his horn and flicks me off.

That's the problem with schools.  The students who attend and their parents can afford the high end private schools are the ones that will most likely succeed in almost any school setting.  Of course the more expensive private schools are the ones succeeding and have high performance metrics, the students mostly come from highly educated parents and have access to a lot more resources. Schools are a self-perpetrating cycle, poor kids will remain poor, rich kids will remain rich, with a few outliers.    Also agree with the sentiment that the parents expect way too much from schools, it starts at home.

C.J. Cron is Mark Trumbo with a higher batting average/more contact, less power, and a better glove.  If the Angels can get what they got when they traded Trumbo, I'd snap do it.

Calhoun was going to get about $6.9 million through arbitration this year, so as long as he wasn't bad enough to get non-tendered he was going to get at least $23 million through the arb process and, if his career didn't fall off a cliff, a lot more ($30 million+ I'd have thought). So he has probably cost himself money in both his arb years and when he hits free agency and potentially quite a lot of it. I could see this reducing his career earnings by $20 million to $30 million. It's his choice, obviously, but it feels like a minimal gain for the sacrifice given there wasn't huge uncertainty surrounding his short-term earnings. Whatever his reason, though, the team has done extremely well out of this.

I for one am glad the San Diego voters voted to not give Spanos any public money.  NO MORE PUBLIC MONEY TO BILLIONAIRE OWNERS FOR STADIUMS.

Back to the original point of the thread, if Arte wants to move the team to Irvine or wherever, fine by me, as long as there is no public money going to him. I was going to write a very long ass rant regarding giving public money to team owners but meh.  I root for the Angels, but I'm not in the business of giving wealthy people my tax dollars, nor will I shed a tear if they move away.  My life doesn't revolve around the team.

I am an accountant, but I don't have much knowledge about the relocation nor the debt waiver.  My gut reaction was that Spanos is doing this to increase the team's value before he sells the team as he is getting up there in age and whatever the increase in team value is would be more than the relocation fee. This is all speculation on my part, but definitely know that Spanos is a very smart man and he made this decision to benefit him financially.
I'm not much of a tax accountant so I can't discuss the ramifications of financing.

Of course I recognized Cousin Mose.  Not sure if you know but Cousin Mose is actually played by one of the staff, either a writer or producer.  I recommended the Office to said co-worker who recommended Parks and Recreation.  I agree with what you said about the Office's series finale, wrapped up everything with a wide range of emotions, though the last 3 seasons as a whole sucked.  I'm mid way through season 4 on Parks and Rec and have really enjoyed the show so far.
