.700 OPS from Cozart with his above average defense would be what I expect from him.  Don't think it's an overpay.  2 WAR players usually cost about this amount.

The Yonder Alonzo signing doesn't make any sense to me.  If they wanted to sign a player of that type, I would rather they sign Mitch Moreland, who put up comparable numbers and would be cheaper to sign.  I wouldn't sign Walker to 2 years 20mil as the article suggests, but with not much else out there for 2B I guess the Angels should do it.  SP targets I would go after if I was GM;  Jaime Garcia and Miguel Gonzalez.  Jaime Garcia - 2 years 16 mil and Miguel Gonzalez - 1 year incentive laden 7 mil; are medium-risk signings for the Angels; as you can never have too much pitching and have a pretty good shot at overproducing the contract they are given with the high level defense the Angels have.  I wouldn't break the bank for most of these free agents.  Some of the prices for the relievers are getting ridiculous. 

Re. Greyson Long.  Even if he turns into Clevinger, the fact that the Angels traded him for one of the top LFers is good enough for me.  The Angels actually got someone useful and with a proven track record of production and filled a key need.  Trading Clevinger for some middleing reliever with no history or track record of success was a giant mistake.

As much as the Pujols signing was super hyped, I didn't like the terms of the deal.  The Vlad deal on the other hand was perfect time and money and the was in his prime and the Angels swooped him from the Dodgers, as it was widely speculated the Dodgers were hot on his heels.  

Such a great trade.  Turning one of the weak spots in the lineup to one of the best, and there's a possibility that he may not opt-out by playing along side the GOAT!

So some people are concerned about Upton on his struggles last year, he still had a .775 OPS and was worth 2.0 WAR.  The .775 OPS would've been the 3rd highest this season.  Think about how much he improves this team even in a down year!

Baseball by far is the toughest sport to project young talent.  While this is encouraging on all fronts, let's wait a bit longer before we anoint players the next whatever star player.  Small sample sizes people.  

It's not necessarily about the hits, it's his approach.  Cowart isn't swinging wildly and chasing pitches like Espinosa was.  It's just a refreshing approach from what we saw earlier this season.  

With Cowart in the lineup, I'm so glad Espinosa is no longer whiffing at the plate and messing up a good inning.  Say what you will about K totals, in some situations you want the hitter to just make contact.

I am very happy with the moves Eppler has made.  I wasn't too excited thinking he was riding the Yankees' success.  However, now that he is running the show, he's done a great job eyeing talent, even though some of the moves haven't worked out.

Dusty Baker said the exact thing when he intentionally walked him saying he's beaten me so many times before.  Probably up there as one of the dumbest mangerial moves ever.
