Putting Trout on the 10 day is kind of stupid considering we won't see him for 8 weeks.

There's no real incentive to put him on the 60-day yet.  For position players, there's nothing between the 10-day and the 60-day IL, so it's fine to leave him on the 10-day until they need space on the 40-man.  You can stay on the 10-day indefinitely.

I truly don’t care. It makes more sense than Adams. If he continues to suck they’ll DFA him then it’s next man up.

Does it, though?  I guess if the argument is that Adams needs regular playing time at AAA, I can maybe understand it--but, again, I'd honestly prefer someone like Jason Martin who at least has a 0.00001% chance of turning into a usable piece beyond this year.  Pillar is just sucking up a roster spot.

I cannot remember a time when I've been more frustrated and disgusted with the state of the team.

May 1: "Trout expected to be out 5-8 weeks, but confident he can return on the short side of that."

June 5: "Trout's recovering taking a bit longer than expected, but still hopes to be back before All-Star Break, eight weeks after his injury."

July 1: "Trout has set-back, but hopes to return in July."

July 31: "Trout plays first game back, goes 0-4, says 'something doesn't feel right' so the Angels plan to play it cautiously."

August 7: "After sitting on the bench for the last week with slow recovery, the Angels place Trout on the 10-day IL, retroactive to August 1."

August 10: "Trout needs a bit more time, but feels good and is running fine."

August 20: "Trout re-tweaks his knee, will be out a bit longer."

September 1: "Given the last place standing of the Angels, they decide to play it safe with Trout, and put him on the 60-day IL for the rest of the year. A teary-eyed Trout is hopeful and determined to come back in 2025 strong."

Or Teodosio. Superb defense, steal some bags and he's finally hitting.

Odd that they haven't added Brandon Belt to be the DH yet.

Also, what's up with Miguel Sano?

There's no point in adding Belt now.  Why spend a couple/few million on a guy who's not going to change the outcome of the season?

Sano, who knows? He'll probably go on the IL, too.

Oh I get it -- I just dont want to see another guy pushed into something and then being worse off for it.

Call me a hater, but there's a part of me that is enjoying seeing their refusal to add IF help or sign an OFer come back to bite them in the ass.  I wasn't in the "sign the big guys" camp, but I wanted them to make sensible offers to people who weren't absolute trash. There was nothing, absolutely nothing that would have kept them from playing the young guys AND making an attempt at safeguarding themselves by signing capable players.

People can say that it takes two to tango and the sort, but there's enough info out there to know who the Angels did and didn't make offers on.

I mean, seriously fuck this shit if Pillar is the move
