  1. I have a friend who has been evacuated for this. The bank she works at is in the evacuated area too so she can't work either. If they are out long term I wonder if they will get any relief funds or something, she doesn't know how she is going to pay her mortgage if she cant go back to work within a week or two.
  2. I went to private school from 3-5 grade and when I started 6th grade at a public school I found that the public school was way easier than my private school. Fast forward to high school and I had a buddy that went to Orange Lutheran while I went to a public high school. Partying with him was eye opening because there would be a lot of cocaine and pills at their house parties, and he made it sound like it was really common... Money doesn't always equal a safer environment.
  3. I tried to look this up but couldn't find any info on it... Can Vegas trade the players they claim for the expansion draft? I was thinking of a scenario where Vegas takes player A from a team in the central and then trades that player to another team in the central. You don't see a lot of inner division trades especially if both teams have high expectations for the upcoming season but you could use vegas to help facilitate it. It could be advantageous to vegas as well. Lets say vegas wants two players from the Ducks. They are both not protected but they could only take one. Vegas comes to us and says "We are going to take vermette but we also want Manson. Is there anyone you want from any other team that wont be protected that we can take to trade for him?" Anyone know the rules for this?
  4. True but if you are painting it Windsor is bug resistant as well. I would still suggest to use redwood unless the price is way more.
  5. Sam Steel continues to shine in the WHL. He has 90 pts in 42 games! http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=154496
  6. I haven't liked a corvette since the 50s and 60s models but the new ones look amazing!
  7. Noesen with another goal for NJ last night. I guess all he needed was more ice time. I usually trust BM and his moves but this looks like a big blunder so far.
  8. Stefan Noesen placed on waivers today, I think we will lose him this time
  9. The best is meatballs! Any time I need to bring a dish to an event I bring meatballs. Directiontions; Fill with frozen meatballs, add one bottle BBQ sauce, and cook for 4-6 hours. Grab a box of toothpicks and you are set. I always get a ton of complements on them too.
  10. My wife isn't very "traditional" in anyway so I went with a black diamond engagement ring. The center stone is almost 2 carats with regular white diamonds surrounding it and I paid just under $1200. When you don't have to worry about clarity you can get a pretty big diamond for a lot less. I looked into having the same ring made with a tigers eye stone as the center stone and the jeweler wanted something like $1,700... Thought that was weird since you can buy a tigers eye stone the size of a quarter for less than $10.
  11. At least Bieksa was a +1 last night with a goal. That lay down sweep of the puck on that 2 on 1 was pretty nice too.
  12. I think Chavez will fill that role unless he is in the rotation permanently.
  13. I like the idea of him coming back as a bullpen piece... It would have to be a 1 year deal with a low base salary with incentives
  14. Yea I liked Garbutt's game too. I would much rather see Boll gone. I was listening to the pregame show yesterday on the radio and they were praising Boll for standing up for his teammates, but him losing every fight probably just fires up the other team even more.
  15. I have this one: http://www.sears.com/body-power-brt6300-3-in-1-trio-trainertm/p-00620349000P?plpSellerId=Sears&prdNo=30&blockNo=30&blockType=G30 But I don't really like it as a bike, I only really use it as an elliptical. Wicked is right though. Go and try a few out in store and see which one you like and then search for it on craigslist. It wont take long to find one you want and you will save a lot of money.
  16. I love the idea of the Chargers playing in Anaheim for a season. Im not a fan of the team but I am sure they would put a little money back into the stadium so what could it hurt?
  17. Through a raffle, I won a duck themed gift basket at work a few weeks ago. I was emailed about it after I had gone home for the day on a Friday. When I came in on Monday and saw the email I went to claim my prize from HR. They said I had sent someone to pick up the prize for me on Friday. I assured them that I didn't since I didn't even know I won until the following Monday... Turns out they gave my basket to someone else. They offered me a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card instead even though the gift basket came with 4 club level tickets that had $20 food and beverage allowance for each, plus other Ducks swag. Still ticked off about it.
  18. Took my 2 year old to the game last night. We made it through the first period in our seats. We walked around most of the 2nd until she had a meltdown because I wouldn't let her touch a mustard covered hotdog wrapper she found on the ground. $20 for her John Gibson bobblehead. I promise I will give her the money... eventually.
  19. LOVE is my favorite too. That was one of the first Cirque do solei shows I saw and none of them have lived up to it since.
  20. I love Top Gun! Watching it as an adult I can see it for the terrible movie that it is( and very homoerotic) but for nostalgia purposes I still love it. My wife and I started dating just a week or two before valentines day in 2012 so I didn't want to do anything too serious for the big day. I made her dinner and then took her to see Top Gun in 3D during it's rerelease. My wife says she knew I was a keeper when I took her to that movie. I was born in 85 and everyone my age that I know loves that movie too.
  21. I saw some writer had him 4th. Betts, Altuve, Ortiz and then Trout.
  22. My wife and I have been watching The Killing recently. I tried to watch this show on my own probably 5 years ago and didn't get into it but we are on season 3 now and I am really enjoying it. Kind of like a Seattle version of Broadchurch
  23. How do they do anything? I wonder if they would be interested in joining my bowling league...
  24. We lead the league in penalty minutes and we have the most fights per game.
