Angel Mook

I'm using a free trial of Hulu TV for now because of this.  It's $5 more than Sling Blue+Orange, but has DVR included (if you care about that) and also local stations that Sling didn't have (CBS, etc.) and their own Hulu content.
It's been pretty much the same quality as Sling so far, so If they don't work out the dispute I'll just cancel.

A player on the Angels who had a good career but currently sucks should be released, whereas a player on another team who is available because he currently sucks should be acquired because he previously had a good career. 

My first Angel game was in August of 1962  at Dodger Stadium,so I have seen the ups and downs of Angel baseball.When I was in high school one of my favorite memories was going to the games every time Nolan Ryan pitched.We would get to the stadium early just to listen to Ryan warm up in the bullpen.You could hear the ball cut through the air and the pop of the catchers mitt was incredible.The first playoff appearance in 1979 and the championship in 2002 were fantastic.There are plenty of other great moments but the one I am most proud of is the way the organization and Mike Scioscia handled the Nick Adenhart tragedy.Today I feel lucky to have Mike Trout an Angel for life,now I get to see the best player I have ever seen every night for years to come.I am a very happy Angel fan today.

An auspicious time for my first posts here!
But let's not lose sight of the big picture. Mike was already going to be playing this season. He isn't an addition to a roster that didn't have him, the way Harper and Machado will be. 
The fact that he will be here during his entire HOF impossibly record breaking career has inestimable value for the franchise over the next decade plus. 
 
But what accrued value is added for this season?
My own opinion is that it will boost team morale by a lot. No more daily stories and innuendo about Philly and by extension, demeaning the Angels and the OC fan base. It also will make the team a prime option for players with no trade or limited trade options. They may now add the Angels to the desirable list. This could come into play even this season around the trade deadline or earlier. And for free agents too, later on.
The young players now know he will be a constant resource and leader, not distracted or uncommitted. And management can go about their business without a sideshow.
Looking forward to another Trout MVP run!
 
 

It’s really close to 2002 for me. Nothing else comes close. 
Fabian and Taylor Blake Ward have been saying in Q&A’s all offseason, “Why would he re-sign now? He probably will become a FA to see how much he can make.” 
Kudos, Jeff, and appreciate the voice of reason through it all. 
One of the best parts: No more inane speculations on him leaving or the Angels trading him. There is no opt out. There is a full no trade clause. It’s over. He’s in for his career. Suck it, haters!

I don't look at contract signings as the pinnacle of any franchise's history. This is and always will be the greatest moment of all time.

I look forward to Trout reenacting Erstad's catch in the future.

A dream of mine is to sit in the photo well at an MLB game. On Saturday I received last minute notification that our family was being invited into a dugout suite at Angel Stadium. This being the closest thing I've ever had to that opportunity I took my camera.  We've been going through some brutal family stuff lately and this was a total godsend and a respite from the storm.

I shot all of these from behind the screen with a good camera, it's no where near the quality that sports photographers use, but it still did a decent job (Canon 60D with the stock lens for camera nerds)
I thought you guys would be able to enjoy these with me.

They don't take into consideration Aybars many other talents.  Like Dancing and comedy.

After Enberg and Starr, it's been a wasteland.. IMO.
With an honorable mention to Rory Markas thrown in, and I'll admit to not hating Victor.

why believe everything you read? everyone has a take on this and its all speculation at this point
