  1. I think this is a supremely stupid take on the matter. When people talk about white privilege this is the kind of shit they're referring to.
  2. “You lost a big audience the minute you say it,” Obama said of the anti-police effort, adding that “snappy” slogans may draw attention but it “makes it a lot less likely that you’re actually going to get the changes you want done.” He's absolutely right here. The fact that this whole movement went with "defund the police" as the title of their stated goal/policy platform is one of the single shittiest marketing moves I've ever seen. It would be like a collection of fishermen going up against an animal rights group to open up restricted waters to commercial fishing and naming their movement "murder every single fish".
  3. Every rom-com is basically a stalker movie with pretty people and a happy sound track.
  4. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-11-19/salvador-cienfuegos-zepeda-charges-dropped-repatriated-to-mexico Kinda surprised this hasn’t been brought up here before. I remember hearing at one point that the plan was to send this dude back to Mexico in exchange for the Mexican government giving the US another cartel guy, which is funny on a few levels. As always, the war on drugs is horseshit.
  5. I take Famotodine pretty much every day because I like spicy shit, and my stomach decided about two years ago that it doesn’t. Once the whole Covid thing got going I added in a daily regimen of B, D, and Zinc. Gonna start adding Turmeric in soon too.
  6. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election/fred-eshelman-donald-trump-lawsuit-voter-fraud-b1762554.html It was only a matter of time.
  7. That was definitely true for me. I voted for Biden as an anti-Trump vote. I'm definitely tired of the old dem establishment, as I think the moderates like Biden are basically a vote for the status quo rather than actual change. I could get excited for a Bernie, Yang, or Gabbard; but the Biden vote was just a clear "I don't like this, but it's far better than the alternative" vote.
  8. I highly doubt the Republicans pick her up. She would be considered a "radical leftist" by many in the Republican party.
  9. Dude, they're losing on purpose so they can appeal all the way to the SC. That's when they'll bring out the actual evidence that they totally definitely have. And then the court is gonna rule 6-3 in Trump's favor because three of them are such liberal POS's that they won't give big DT a W no matter how compelling the totally real evidence is. When the decision finally gets read, Kavanaugh and Barrett are gonna throw Donald a wink, then "You're the best around" is gonna start blaring from the SC surround sound system and Rudy and Donald are gonna hug each other while Pat Morita comes back from the dead and hands Trump the trophy for the All Valley Karate Tournament.
  10. I’m in a pretty high intensity area in terms of spread the last couple weeks, and it’s literally 5 or 6 new people in my FB feed saying they have it every single day for the last week or so. Exponential is a term some people don’t fully grasp. Wishing your father in law all the best of course.
  11. Gotta go through the process and keep appealing to a higher court until you finally get to the SC.
  12. But remember @AngelsLakersFan what Trump says doesn't matter. It's only about policy.
  13. Update. Just took my car to the dealership to get an oil change. Walked into the service department customer area where there were four people (three employees one customer). All wearing masks, with three out of four wearing them below the nose only.
  14. I get how the Q thing can draw in your buddy from high school that struggled to pass pre-Algebra and is working at 7-11 now. That makes sense. How educated, successful people with post-grad degrees fall into this shit is just beyond me.
  15. Agreed. I don't think mask wearing is nearly as widespread as people think it is. I go to my local gas station frequently where there is a clear "no mask, no entry sign". Maybe one out of every two people that enter are wearing one. Couple that with the fact that probably a good third of people (out here at least) are too freaking stupid to wear their mask correctly (i.e. just covering their mouth and not their nose, or pulling the mask down whenever they speak). Then add to both those things that people have changed their socialization habits from going out on the regular to having smaller gatherings with various people in homes, where masks are rarely worn, and I think the numbers all make sense. It would probably be spreading faster if we did absolutely nothing, but what we are doing isn't really stopping this because a pretty sizable chunk of the population isn't very vigilant about masks at all, and an even bigger chunk of the population isn't vigilant all the time.
  16. Way to go and get all "science nerd" on us.
  17. Yeah, slightly higher (though not insignificant) efficacy rate, and -20C is way way way more achievable than -70.
  18. We all appreciate you for your sacrifices. Btw, in my unofficial “people Don knows with Covid study”, the number has gone from 6 total (March through last week) to roughly 20 total in the last two weeks. Not exactly scientific, but for a guy that only loves insular drunks and gamblers, I feel like it’s significant.
  19. My dad was a musician in the Air Force back in the Vietnam era. They would play gigs several days a week pretty much everywhere up and down the west coast. Some were on-post (formal events, welcome back stuff, retirement parties, etc...), some off-post sort of public relations stuff. They did an off-post gig up in Alaska once (don’t remember where exactly), but it was basically a towny bar. He said everyone was carrying HEAVY revolvers on their hip. After the gig he hung out for awhile and asked about it. The locals told him basically everyone carried a 44 mag, as it was the only revolver caliber readily available that had a good chance of stopping a bear.
  20. @Molly Jolly is just a dude that loves kale salad, education, and large amounts of MDMA.
