    My preference would have been for Detmers to get 10 starts or so in AAA and assuming he did well, call him up after (like Baz with the Rays). But ultimately it's splitting hairs. In reality we're probably wasting the service time of our best prospects by calling them up while a buffoon like Maddon continues to manage the team and then takes shots at those same prospects.

    Actually after checking, we played the A's pretty well under Scioscia. Since he left, we're 14-33. Not surprising at all.

    Couple that with Suarez/Sandoval/Rodriguez/etc on the pitching side and the farm system has been producing some very promising results. Now if we can just avoid the free agent market we might have a competitive team.

    Our middle relievers were awful. It seems like we had a lot of 1 and 2 run deficits quickly turn into 4 and 5 runs deficits, games that wouldn't factor into the statistic but maybe games we win if the offense is given a chance to score a few runs late. But Iglesias definitely has to be a priority this offseason.
