  1. A reliever has to be really, really bad to have so many outings like this. He could be done as a major league pitcher.
  2. I actually think the Yanks would make for the easiest opponent. They'd be my choice. Otherwise, I'd probably go with this order: Indians Orioles Royals Blue Jays
  3. I was a big critic of the trade, but Salas has been decent and, after a hot start, Grichuk has really cooled off.
  4. Kudos to all of these guys, but it's especially great to see our superstar there.
  5. Actually, he is the idiot for not accepting their contract offer.
  6. You realize he posted that a year ago, right? When our rotation was headlined by Tommy Hanson and Joe Blanton, and the pen anchored by Sean Burnett and Ryan Madson (all Dipoto acquisitions).
  7. He is a crazy good month away from leading the AL in nearly every major batting category.
  8. Lou, Stradling, I believe what you are both saying, but perhaps you exercise your mod powers better than others. I certainly have never seen you guys try to censor anyone, even when people say some stupid things. But there were posts in several threads the other night that were deleted for what appeared to be no reason other than disagreement with the content. And there is at least one moderator on here who thinks anyone who feels differently than him is an idiot who shouldn't be posting. I see him attack other posters on a near daily basis for no reason other than disagreement with the content of their posts. That shouldn't be what this board is about, IMO.
  9. And FWIW, the mods didn't censor like this a few years ago. This is a new thing.
  10. Why do you guys delete posts to begin with? It is one thing if someone is obviously trolling, but I rarely see that happening. Posts are being deleted because some mods don't agree with their content. And that's the perogative of the powers that be, but this website loses major credibility because it is now being perceived as one where you can talk openly about Angels baseball, but only if you agree with the opinions of the mods.
  11. I haven't been. He looks incredibly hitable. But then again, he has the track record, so I assume he will have the numbers when all is said and done.
  12. I have killed a spider this way. But outdoors, not indoors.
  13. Not sure you are right about that Glen. Rondon may be a top 60 or 70 prospect come the off-season.
  14. I love In-N-Out's fries because they don't make me feel sick after eating them. Yes, they taste different than most fries, but that is because all you are getting is the potato and vegetable oil. In other words, real food.
  15. People keep saying "prospects are just prospects," but every guy is at one point "only" a prospect. Imagine if two years ago we had traded Calhoun and Richards for a relief pitcher with a year of club control left.
  16. I appreciate the apology Chuck. As much as the trade sucked, the idea that my favorite website was starting to censor discussion was possibly even more upsetting. I am glad to hear it was unintentional.
  17. I think this was a coup by the Padres, but I will say that I thought Pena and Segura were certain to be solid major league players, and both have flopped.
  18. Yep. And look at how dominant Alvarez has been this season. It would not surprise me to see him put up roughly equal value to street the next season and a half, and then he still has five more years of club control.
  19. Fantastic point Doc. 36 potential seasons of club control for two seasons of relief pitching. The team could have signed a guy like Benoit this off-season and avoided the need to make this trade altogether. And why aren't people more bothered about losing Rondon? The guy is easily going to be a top 100 prospect soon. He is 20 and was destroying a-ball, at a premium position. After a night of sleep and time to calm down, I am still pissed at this trade. It actually prevented me from sleeping well.
  20. He is washed up. His contract could turn out to be the worst in franchise history, because at least Pujols is kind of hitting.
  21. Lou, does this trade really not bother you? You don't think the Angels massively overpaid? And possibly hurt their long term success?
  22. But that is the problem, you can't keep winning with that approach.
  23. We should have given them Newcomb and Delgado too.
