The Angels could use Kelly Leak right now.

I have to agree. One of the best ever. Fantastic use of classical music, especially the end of the last game.
There were a lot of deeper meanings in that movie. Kind of reminds me of The Breakfast Club.
Should have never attempted a remake.

My favorite baseball movie (and one of my favorites of any genre for that matter) of all time. So much more than just a bunch of foul mouthed, crappy Little Leaguers — though they are certainly a big part of the film's charm.

Lack of talent?  What about 2012?  So much lack of talent on that team.

He pretty much this, Scioscia should have been fired several years ago.  Scioscia knows it, even Arte Morono knows it as well, he just doesnt want to pay him off on his contract.

So were stuck with Sciocia making bad in game decisions, poor preparation, and going through the motions because he could give two shits about anything but his paycheck.

If we make the playoffs and get past the first round, I hope Arte doesn't think about extending him for say, another five years.

Scioscia teams are simply unprepared for Opening Day. Year after year, a great spring followed by a loud thud.

By Nate Trop & Glen McKee, AngelsWin.com Staff Columnists -
It’s two games into the regular season and as usual, the Angels look as flat as Twiggy (alert: old person reference!).  Every spring training the Angels are like “Bend over and get ready to take it baby, because it’s coming!” and then the regular season starts and they drop their drawers to reveal a micro-penis.  These continual slow starts prompt Roger Loge and other talking heads to invoke the spirit of 2002 – the actual spirit, not the incredibly handsome and witty AngelsWin.com poster who used to go by that name but is now Godfrey or something similar.  Folks, this isn’t 2002 but we keep hearing this every time we have a slow start, which is almost every year, and the one thing that has remained the same is the guy at the helm.  So, here’s a quick hit of Point/Counterpoint (PCP) Debate on everyone’s favorite subject, to get the year started:  Should Scioscia be fired?
YES! – By Glen.  I know, it’s not gonna happen.  But please, indulge me a bit.  Every year we see the same thing no matter who is on the team.  Every year we start out by tipping our cap and talking about how the opposing pitchers were on their game and hitting their spots, and how we have some guys scuffling and trying to work some things out.
That’s what spring training is for.  Working things out.  We started last year looking flaccid against the eventual World Series champion Royals (this bodes well for the Cubs), getting swept.  We missed the playoffs by one game.  If we’d won just one of those games against the Royals we could have made the playoffs and then been swept out of them like in 2014.
Scioscia is the head of the snake that needs to be chopped off.  Every year it’s the same thing.  A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  It’s time to be inconsistent.  Fire him now, fire him later in the season, or fire him after the season ends (unless the Angels make the playoffs, of course, in which case he’s a genius).  Just fire him sometime this year.
No! – By Nate.  By now I am well established as a huge Scioscia fan so I don’t need to explain my credentials.  I was just explaining to my Dad that Arte needs to give Eppler time, he can’t keep going through GMs like CJ Wilson goes through excuses.  For that same reason, the Angels need to keep Scioscia to give Eppler some stability at the start of his tenure.
Really, this whole mess is on Arte.  He keeps trying to run the team using his marketing acumen instead of letting the baseball people run the team.  This team resembles a Bernie Sanders policy, way too expensive and destined for failure.  Arte doomed this team from years of signing over priced free agents, trading away depth, firing scouts, GM changes, and bad organizational management and turned a dynasty into a flop.  It really sucks because we have the best player on the planet and we got him at the absolute low point in the last two decades.  Not even Mike Trout can save this team.
Fans being excited for pre-season is what it has come to.  Scioscia even challenged a play during the Spring… think about that for a second, five games ended in a tie, the record means nothing, and Scioscia challenged a f*#$ing play.  Maybe Scioscia was just practicing for this season which also doesn’t matter, because they were never going to win anything meaningful.
So… since this season was going to be crap before it even started… fire the fat man once it is over then we will finally be rid of him!

They didn't place another starter on the DL like we did.

    So, arguably, they did better.

Lester is a very good pitcher, but if you're team expects to compete for a playoff spot I would expect the offense to be able to at least get a few solid hits at least off of him.  He's not Arrieta.

They play in April the same way they do in October. Offense goes to sleep and the pitching is horrible.

Why would you expect improvement?  It basically IS the same team as last year offensively with Pujols a year older, Escobar coming off an unsustainable BABIP at age 33 and Simmons who is even worse offensively than Aybar.  Throw in the rest of the turds like Gio, Nava, Gentry, Perez, and Cron and this is what we have to work with.

It's one thing to lose to those guys, it's another to look absolutely pathetic while doing so. Go watch a good offense face a top shelf pitch - at the very least they come with an approach and make them work.

Some of you need to lower your expectations for this season...

Some of us with already low expectations are reevaluating after these games.
    It was pretty ugly.
