seenoevil reacted to Docwaukee in NFL >>> MLB
Seriously though, there has been a lot of talk from Eppler and even MS about bringing technology to the dugout this year. It's gonna be interesting to see what this does and if it has any major effect.

I do understand. I disagree with the formula.
Do you have any posts that don't include name calling and dense statements?

seenoevil reacted to NrM in Scioscia and the contact play
My issue with the angels baserunning has always been that players don't seem to be held accountable for their own careless decisions on the basepaths.
When aybar or pujols are thrown out by a mile trying to take 2nd, i usually see scioscia slap the player on the ass and clap. It seems like sciosca encourages this kind of "aggressive" baserunning.
There's a fine line between aggressive baserunning and stupid baserunning.

If he squirts out 25 HR's and hits .260 I'll be ecstatic.

Am I the only one that read the title as "Kyle Schwarber"? Apparently I need more coffee. And glasses.

Because Bartleby the Scribner was already taken. His team can't get rid of him.

There are 30 MLB teams so of course we are the only team that needed this guy.

If that doesn't work, he can always try this.

Also works to his advantage that he's a righty who is fairly young and controllable in our lefty heavy rotation. He's worth holding onto even with his negatives, at least until another righty on the farm reaches the same status that folks like Tropeano and Nate Smith have.

Great start for Skaggs ... reminds me of a Beetle song entitled 'the long and winding road'.

Skaggs is a beast. It was great seeing him back. He looked good.

I'm so sick of this pussy. I had really hoped that he could be traded this winter, I never wanted to see him pitch in an Angels uni again after last season ended.
Now we're stuck with his sorry ass all f'n year.

seenoevil reacted to ABC in Cespedes is a clown...
yeah! what an idiot!
sheesh.
The rule seems silly to begin with. Defenders always get so excited to get a ball ruled "stuck".

seenoevil reacted to laagamer in Cespedes is a clown...
Just watched the video when they zoomed in and you're right. Ball wasn't lodged. Thought it looked stuck in the padding to me by the gif. But as the article states, in that situation, ground rules would give two bases. I guarantee there's a ground rule clause in the rule book.
-
seenoevil reacted to laagamer in Cespedes is a clown...
As an umpire, these are things covered in the ground rules.
If a ball becomes lodged in any predetermined place then the OF can raise his arms to single and it's a ground-rule double. If the OF attempts to play the ball in any way then it remains in play.
With no clear ground-rules established in ST games, as the article states, then nobody is at fault.
I fail to see how Cespedes is an ass.

Shoe does well in Anaheim. He only saw 55ip there last year. That needs to change.
Skaggs is gonna be a big part of whether this team does well or not.
