  1. Damn. Wanted to see them duke it out on the mound. Even thought Tanaka would chew through this poor lineup.

Now, maybe not with Ohtani in it. And if Barraia gets the start, we've got a pretty damn good shot at pulling out Sunday. Not to mention Ohtani in the lineup for the whole series.

    Good move, possibly.

Of course there's always the chance that the Yankees light up Barrraia's rookie ass lol

Constitute decent? Last time I checked .167 isn't decent and can be found on just about any major league bench. Yes his defense is outstanding but they don't make designated defenders. Justin upton plays mediocre defense but his ability to hit makes him more valuable imo than someone making acrobatic diving catches. I don't believe in the notion that even though he's 0-4 but he dives and prevents a base hit a net wash.

You want me to define decent?

Somebody that plays okay defense and hits ML average.

Decent isn't simply someone that hits better than Kole, brother.

  3. This reminds me of the time Salmon went like 0-50 the last year of his career lol

But in all seriousness, if we put him on waivers, somebody WILL grab him. He has too much upside. And hey, he's not terrible for a 4th OF. He plays solid defense. It's just a shame that we don't have anyone decent to replace him in the starting role.

...Unless we start Ohtani in RF

    What? That's crazy...

  4. Nice work!

“We have considered that scenario,” Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. “Obviously you’d like him to hit in your lineup, but not to have a DH in your lineup really gives you a tactical disadvantage. If he got a blister in the second inning, or if his pitch count got up and he was done after five innings, right now our bench isn’t deep enough to be able to play a National League game.”

I mentioned that when we played against COL. I know that him coming back to pitch on Sundays prevented him from pitching then, but it would be a tremendous boost in the arm to have him on the mound and in the lineup in the same game.

@Lou mentioned that teams might throw at him to get him off the mound, but I want to believe that sportsmanship would prevent teams from actually doing this.

Good point by Sosh though. Interesting to thing about either way.

We need an actual starting RF that can produce.

Calhoun at this point has quickly become a late inning defensive replacement, 4th outfielder IMO.

Drop Young and bring back Blash to start fulltime until Eppler can pull off a deal.

I'd love to pry Jorge Soler and Kelvin Herrera from the Royals somehow.

Or Franchy Cordero and Brad Hand from the Padres.

Honestly? Blash looked mediocre in like what, 10 AB's?

And heck ya, I'd be down for trades.
